Decent
Really good stuff, adhesive needs warming of cold and watch out for cuts on your fingers when trimming and applying. Overall impressed with the ease of install, cutting and the soundproofing provided. Excellent value.

Peace restored
Do not usually have time for reviews but merit where merit is due. Used this stuff to line a 16 year old T4 van we are converting. Van is hubby's project and when I first sat in it with the engine running my heart sank....it sounded like a tank and not somewhere I would envisage spending 5 minutes in let alone a weekend. Fast forward when cab and only cab had been sound proofed.....I was able to sit in the rear of the van and hold a normal voice level conversation with him and my daughter in the front. I was amazed...it had turned a tank of a van into something almost as quiet as my 4 year old top of the range Mondeo....and that's without the rear being done. Brilliant stuff and refreshingly for once something that does what it says it will.

Works a treat
After putting this on my Mondeo's doors, boot floor and some in the C pillars. The overall noise inside the cabin reduced a fair amount, I can now listen to my radio on the motorway at 5 blips compared to 7 before, and it's made it easier to talk to passengers, especially in the rear seats. Very happy with the results, makes long journeys more pleasant. Overall I only used 14 sheets (these are the bigger sheets, almost A3 sized, compared to smaller versions they also sell). If that helps you gauge how many you'll need. Very easy to apply, just clean the surface of wherever you want to stick it to, peel back the paper to expose the sticky side and stick it on. I only used my hands and didn't bother with a roller, which wouldn't have been any use for many places like inside my doors anyway. If you value comfort in your car, I'd definitely recommend adding these. They don't cost a lot, and only took me maybe 2.5hours per door including disassembly, clean, stick and reassembly. Well worth the effort imo!

More effective than I expected
I bought two packs of Silent Coat to reduce road and wind noise in my 1963 Volkswagen van. I applied it to the insides of the front wheel arches, cab floor, and cab doors. It has significantly reduced not only road noise, but engine noise too - I had not expected it to reduce engine noise, which must have somehow been transmitted via the body to the cab. It is relatively easy to apply and sticks well. It seems that you do not need to cover an area entirely for it to have a beneficial effect. I would recommend it.

Buy this not the more expensive rival.
A cheap but comparable version of sound proofing. You will cover more area for less money and have roughly the same reduction in sound. I have a VW camper, I used three packs and covered the whole van for less the two packs of the most expensive rival, and you get more sqM per pack aswell. This is a great cheep product!

Great product.
Sticks really well. Didn’t measure the difference but very noticeable. I did go over the product afterwards with a closed foam 10mm adhesive backed temperature insulation as well. Only installed the silent coat in pieces to about 50% of the panel surfaces and only to large panels (old classic Range Rover) but it made a massive difference especially to the under bonnet areas. Noise is very noticeably reduced.

Good stuff.
Used it on a Trafic van ,it certainly stops the side and roof panels sounding like a drum. When you tap the outside of the van it sounds like its made of solid wood or something! I don`t think it would be very good on the floor ,the floor is more rigid , but to be honest I haven`t tried it and I could well be wrong.

Take the boom out of vroom.
My local garage mechanic fitted this to my peugeot expert van on both the floor, sides and roof in the back. Delivery via Amazon uk was fast so we did not run out of material for the job. The material stuck like s**** on a blanket after the panels had been degreased using a dewalt heat gun to take the edge off the cold. From the suppliers you can also get an insulation layer which is also self adhesive. It cuts the sound quite dramatically as an example the radio before fitting needed a volume of eleven but after fitting the same sound level went down to five. If you are adept then this is very much in diy territory. Normally this is put in behind car panels in doors which is straightforward. However if you play around with the headlining you do need to think through your finish and how you will attach it.

il faut que le fournisseur achète un pied a coulisse pour mesurer l'épaisseur . 2mm commander / livrer en 1mm . pas sérieux
