I can't seem to unlock these. Have tried the twisting but they won't move. What am I doing wrong?

These are not the most easy as the simple but very small plastic central twisting lock is hard to turn. It clicks in the locked position which prevents the stainless steel clips from being pressed in, so to unlock this you need to twist the central plastic clip anti-clockwise.

Can these be used on tents?

If you mean to lock the zips up on a tent at night then yes if it’s to hang something from them like a light then yes
