Superb Tool and Works Perfectly
This review will show you how to use this tool properly, so you can get many years of happy chain removal. Just have a look at the state of the chain I am about to remove. It has been left out in the garden for 10 years, and is rusted solid. This is going to be a nightmare to remove the link you would have thought no? If this tool can do it then it has to be perfect for the job, and not easy to break like the other reviewers have said, and documented. 1. I soaked the link I am about to remove in WD40 about 30 minutes before removal. I got a paper towel and wrapped it around the link and sprayed the towel with the WD40. 2. I wound out both the plunging pin, and the threaded back stop, and placed the chain against the back of the remover as seen in picture 3. 3. I then wound both the plunging pin and the back stop up to the chain to lock it all in place so the chain can move, being somewhat careful to line the chain pin up with the plunger. 4. I then slowly wound the pin into the link, using absolute minimal force. The pin wound in so easy, it was like turning up the volume knob of a Hi-Fi amplifier. 5. The pin just popped out, and was left inside of the barrel of the back stop, so there is no way of losing it. Hey presto, you have removed the pin from your rusty old chain with no damage to the removal tool, the chain, or myself from having to use extreme force. Please let this put an end to the this tool is garbage posts. You need to use it properly to start with. If you liked this review, and found it helpful, please click the button saying so. Its much appreciated. ๐

Excellent Chain Tool - A Must-Have for Every Cyclist!
This chain tool exceeded my expectations! It's solidly built, easy to use, and gets the job done quickly and efficiently. The handle provides a comfortable grip, and the tool is sturdy enough to handle even the toughest chains without bending or breaking. Whether you're installing a new chain or repairing a broken one, this tool makes the process a breeze. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs a reliable chain tool!

Good tools
Both tools are reasonably good quality and offer great value for money. The link remover had good instructions on the rear of the packaging. Unfortunately the chain stretch tool didn't, I had to go to youtube to find out how to use it. Lost a star for that. otherwise good.

It works as described.
Really good quality & low cost. Very heavy duty & works great. It's nice that it even comes with a spare pin removal fitting in the handle & a split chain retainer to assist in rejoining the chain. Well worth a look.

It's a well made sturdy little tool
To tell the truth, at first glacรฉ I wasn't impressed. I purchased this to split a rusted chain. I thought that I would be fiddling about for ages and didn't thing this little tool would be up to the job. How wrong I was. With this sturdy little tool it split it in seconds, with ease. It fits on the chain holding it in the right position and all you need to do is screw the centre and it pushes the pin out. It even hold the two ends together of the new chain when you replace the new pin. It even looks small enough to carry around in your pocket.

Be careful to use the back slot or risk bending the pin
Works very well, broke 9 segments to date not problem. Looks like if you only use the back slot you wont bend the pin.

Lifesaver!!
Until I had a problem with a bicycle chain I never realised what a fiddly tricky job it was to both break a chain for removal and then re-insert the pin to re-install the chain. I would say without a specialist tool this would be impossible. My original thought that "I'll sort that with a pair of pliers" was so far off the mark it's embarrassing ..... but we live and learn!! This tool is obviously a specialist chain removal and repair tool and it works brilliantly. Feels like a quality piece of kit. I'm sure that probably all chain removal and repair tools are based on this mechanical design. I am very happy with this purchase
