Thermos Stainless King Midnight Blue Food Flask (470ml) 9h Hot | 14h Cold

I bought this Thermos food flask in Cranberry Red for taking hot meals on the go, and it honestly lives up to the reputation. The insulation is exceptional. I pack hot soup or pasta at around 7 AM, and by lunchtime (5 to 6 hours later), it’s still piping hot—not just lukewarm. The 470ml size is the sweet spot—compact enough to tuck into a backpack, yet roomy enough for a generous portion. The folding full-size spoon hidden inside the lid is such a clever touch, meaning there's one less thing to forget in the morning. The wide mouth makes filling and eating directly out of it really easy, as well as cleaning up afterwards. Most importantly, it’s completely leak-proof—no spills or oily messes in the bag whatsoever. The deep red finish looks lovely too. Absolutely worth every penny for winter lunches!

In a word - Fantastic. (Thermos Food Flash 470ml Blue) bought direct from Amazon on Prime 1 day delivery. What can I say, I mean, just read the other reviews for more detail, I dont write reviews often but I just HAD to chime in and confirm this was indeed a good... GREAT buy. I'll try to be brief. I've used it for 3 days so far. The flask keeps the food hot, simple. And the metal spoon is great. It folds away neatle and is STRONG too. None of this plastic spoon rubbish. And it looks good on the desk too (The blue one is the one I have). Just to give a better idea than, its great, its hot. Heres some timings. Day 1 8am - Add hot water as per instruction to pre-heat. Removed after 10 minutes and took to hotel breakfast restaurant. 8.30am - Hotel Microwaved my diet food soup and put into flask. Off to work. Approx 1pm - Opened the flask. The food was hot!!! Great! Day 2 Ddint use it in the day, but thought I would be inventive. Im in a hotel, limited and bought some of those typical hot-dogs-in-a-tin (mine were in plastic wrapping but same thing). I WAS going to have them cold. BUT, then I saw the Thermos flask on the desk. *Lightbulb moment* Broke the hotdogs in half, threw them into the flask, boiled some water, and put the lid on. Watched some TV, about 10 minutes later, opened the flask, got the foldable spoon out, and fished out the hotdogs. They were piping hot!!! Fantastic. Boil-your-own-food-in-a-flask at the hotel moment. Normally the hot water into a mug wouldnt stay hot enough to properly heat the hotdogs, but this worked great! So needless to say, im even happier now! Maybe this will even work for instant noodles. Day 3 This time I was too rushed to pre-heat the flask, and I went straight down to breakfast. 8.30am - Hotel microwaved my diet food soup and put into flask. Off to work. Approx 2pm (So an hour later than the pre-heated day 1) Opened the flask. The soup was hot!! Like hot as in had to sip it a little hot. Not warm, hot! If I was going to be picky, I wouldnt say steaming hot, but none-the-less. But what do you expect, it was actually microwaved food, so I didnt think that would stay as hot as actual cooked or boiled food. And I forgot to pre-heat the flask. Compact, nice finish although I’m a bit cautious with it as I’m not convinced the paint won’t deteriorate. Functions well, keeping food warm. I bought two. This one and another well known brand. They are much of a muchness. Both are good flasks. This one (as mentioned before) has a different quality finish. Aesthetics? Yes but I am concerned that it won’t stay the course.

I’m a big fan of thermos and would rate their products highly in terms of expectation and actual product, quality and value. The Pros- I’ve now had 4 of these flasks and have found that you can use them twice daily and they hold their heat around four to five hours. you can use six hours however, you will notice that the temperature is cooler. The Cons - One query is that they have altered the inside of the lid and I’m left wondering what the little plastic bit is see photo. However, this would not detract from recommending the product. Cleaning - recommended for hand wash only hot, soapy, water and a dish or bottle brush is all you need. After about two months use of daily use, the inside can tarnish and look unsightly. I have read this in a number of other reviews. The solution was recommended to me by my Dad. Simply put a single dishwashing tablet into the flask body and pour on very hot water. For example 80 to 90 degrees. No need to use the lid. Fill to top of brim. NB if it is too hot after many times, you will unfortunately the bottom of the flask may become detached so be careful of water isn’t too hot. Product rating - I would give it 4 out of 5 on the basis that it will only last a year or two I have found that the bottom of the flask can detach after many uses and cannot be put back together again , the other issue are found in the past is that the rubber around the neck of the flask can loosen with time and can be very difficult to put back on. Leak ability. I have noticed that you do get a good Seal however I would say that I struggle sometimes putting the top lid on , I think this is something that could be explained as it’s not mentioned in the instructions. Star Rating - I would give this four out of five and would have no trouble in recommending it most highly. Manufacturing recommendations - To improve base of flask so that it does not detach after so many uses and also neck of flask where rubber ring can become loose and detach. Many thanks for reading. Why didn't I buy this sooner! I hate work canteen/microwaves so unless I have a sandwich or similar I don't eat full meals. Well this is brilliant. I have greek yogurt topped with frozen berries and seeds etc and it is just about perfect after 5 hours sitting in the car ( warm day too!) I have tested this for the last few months. Also, soup. I bring to boil put in in this and bring to work. Again leave it the car and after 5 hours it is still very hot. I had homemade berry crumble today with yogurt and it was still cool ( only had it in the fridge an hour after cooking it). I think this is the best purchase I have made . Perhaps the heat/cool won't last a long time but I am prepared to replace it if so. Usually I just handwash so unsure if using dishwasher.

Wide neck, handy for soup and clever addition of spoon in inner lid. Kept Ice cubes perfectly for 12 hours, and it is really hot!

I absolutely LOVE the thermos brand as I really rate how long they retain heat. I have tried countless non-branded food flasks (esp ones designed for babies/children) and they’ve always been rubbish, food would be stone-cold only 2 hours later. I’ve thrown away so many, so decided to risk buying a thermos food flask even though I wasn’t keen on the price. But once I got it, I wish I had bought it sooner! I’ve definitely saved money using these flasks as it stops me and my husband from buying lunch out. I have 3 food flasks now, 2x 470ml flask (this purchase) and 1x 710ml flask. TIPS: I always fill the flask with boiling water and put the lid on for a few minutes whilst I heat up the food. Once food is ready to go in, I tip out the boiling water and fill immediately with food. I also always dice and mix the dish before putting it in, I’ve tried layering before (I.e: meat on top of mash Potatoes) and it’s just a pain. Always dice the meat and mix with the carb. Looks awful but tastes better. I use the 470ml REGULARLY, I send my husband to work with a food flask everyday as he works outdoors and really appreciates a hot lunch in the winter. He leaves the house in between 6.30-7.30am and eats lunch around 1pm and his food is always hot. Not hot enough to blow, but hotter than “warm”. He declares it perfect eating temperature, and has to leave the lid off to let the food cool if he eats lunch before 1pm. He normally has a pasta dish of some sort, which I layer with mozzarella/cheddar cheese straight from the fridge - this is melted and stringy by the time he eats it. No, I’m not an oppressed wife. Just a feeder. I also use this food flask for my 3 year old daughter as the selection at most softplays, suck ass. I also despise buying her a lunch for her to refuse it so I find the flask is an excellent alternative, I can fill it with food I know she’ll eat, it is (usually) healthier, and it’s cheaper! (Also if she doesn’t eat right away she can eat later and it’s still warm). We normally have leftovers (rice, noodles or pasta dishes). I tend to make her lunch 2-3 hours before she eats it, and it’s always too hot to serve straight from the flask. I once made her a pasta dish for lunch around 10am, but the softplay was dead quiet and I felt awkward next to a massive “only you only eat food purchased from [softplayname]”; unfortunately, my daughter goes to nursery with the softplay owner. So, I didn’t take out the flask there, but I was still out by 5pm (daughters dinner time) and decided to see how the pasta was and it was still warm! Warm enough for both of us to eat but I didn’t have to blow on the fork or anything. Cons: 1: With any metal food flask, getting the odour out is always a pain. To combat this I use 1x tsp of bicarbonate and pour in white vinegar until it bubbles up and fills the whole flask. Once this calms down I fill it up with boiling hot water and leave for a few hours or overnight, then empty and clean as normal. Bit of a faff but it works. I have put mine in the dishwasher and the flask is perfectly fine but it does pick up a soapy odour which also annoys me so I hand wash it. 2: THE SPOON! If you only plan on eating soup then this won’t be an issue for you, but I never use my flask for soup, I wish it came with a spork! I always have to bring a fork with me which is a pain if I forget it, and putting dirty and used forks back in my bag is not ideal. Plus husband keeps leaving forks in his van. Annoying.

Es ist die zweite Thermos King Dose, die ich gekauft habe. Die sind stabil und langlebig, selbst wenn sie auf den Boden fallen. Wenn das Essen richtig heiß eingefüllt würd, halt es mehrere Stunden heiß, es hängt allerdings auch davon ab, wie flüssig die Speise war. Je flüssiger, desto länger hält es heiß. Was auch super funktioniert, ist das Kalthalten von Eiswürfeln für den Transport, wenn man im Sommer draußen kalte Getränke mixen will oder eben nicht ständig in die Küche rennen. Da schmilzt ebenfalls stundenlang nichts. Die Dosen halten auch nach Jahren des Gebrauchs dicht. Also für sie neue Dose kann ich das natürlich nicht nicht sagen, aber die erste, baugleiche Dose ist nun mindestens acht Jahre alt und ständig im Gebrauch und funktioniert einwandfrei, obwohl inzwischen mal der Boden abgegangen ist. 0,5 p könnte für manche für Mittagessen vielleicht zu klein sein aber es gibt sie ja auch in größer. Die Öffnung könnte etwas größer sein, aber ist auch okay.

Perfect, keeps the soups very hot for hours, only liquid things keep them hot, no solid. I dropped another Thermo same brand when I was washing it and stop working probably got a leak so treat it with care.
