Balsa Wood - Large Bundle

Great starter wood for my son. We bought him a woodworking station for his 6th birthday and he has hammered, sawn, nailed, banged, snapped almost every piece of wood. Super easy to cut for him and very soft for him to put nails in. Great variety of sizes.

As a model maker you cant make a silk purse out of a sows ear! Welcome to silk purses. In my opinion a more than reasonable price for the quantity and the of quality wood. Even grain,few, if any knots. I am on my second unit will order a third without hesitation.

I was underwhelmed with this for the price. I am not a modeller, so not especially familiar with the world of balsa wood and just bought this to help my kid with a school project building a castle. I did at least expect a few blocks of a few inches but this pack doesn't contain that. My own stupid fault for buying it when there is no proper specification of what it contains - "large" is all relative isn't it? And I guess you need to be wary of that for any such "bundles" which don't clearly tell you what you are getting. But really what annoyed me the most is that I got a near identical pack elsewhere on amazon for about £5 cheaper, so this seems over-priced, even if it is exactly what you need.

Sehr teuer, aber mein Sohn ( 8 Jahre alt) kann ohne Sägen damit arbeiten. Das war mein Gedanke!! Er konnte vorher nie selber etwas mit Holz bauen. Und nun hat er ein Schiff gebaut! Einfach aus seinem Kopf heraus. Das Holz lässt sich super auch mit der Scheere schneiden.
