RND083 Anodised Aluminium Round Cake Pan, Silver, 8 x 3-Inch Deep

Bought these as I wanted to up my game in my hobby baking, I wanted to make a layer cake with straighter sides than the usual shop bought tins make. I bought the 3 inch deep ones to start and couldn’t get the batter to cook through properly despite lowering the oven temp, baking for longer and using cake strips! Made the decision to buy the 2 inch tins and make more layers. These tins are perfect and I’ve nailed the cake! I use a 6oz mix per tin and they make about 1.5 inch cooked layers. Ordered the 6 inch tins also to attempt a tiered cake. I do line both the bottom and sides of the tin.

Bought this way back in 2022 and been meaning to leave a review but never got round to it till now. I just finished cooking with it (today) in my halogen oven. Yup... I bought it for both- my halogen (in use since 2015) and my standard oven. As you can see from the pics, no rust after nearly 3 years of constant use (circa 3 times a week). It also cleans up well... soak for 5 minutes and any dried food just comes right off (I use circular grease proof paper, so usually a wipe will suffice). It cooks food really well and retains the heat. I use it for chicken wings, ribs, chips, roasting of a whole chicken, potatoes, veg, grilling meat, chicken fish, cook from frozen food etc... too much to list. It's one of my best buys ever!

Love PME cake tins for an even bake. Easy to clean,thick and lightweight,cakes are easier getting out. Good price for quality tins.

Really nice sturdy tins which produced an evenly risen, nice looking, dare I say, professional looking sponge. Deep enough to allow for a good rise.

I haven’t even completed this cake yet, as you can tell from the photo, but I wanted to review these tins. I’m over 8 months pregnant and both my husband and I were born this month. We are stuck in quarantine in Ireland during the COVID pandemic and I wanted to do something to lift our spirits. Today is my birthday, so I had ordered these pans in order to make a vegan strawberry cake. I also ordered vegan coconut butter, wax paper circles for the tins, and a myriad of other ingredients. As you can see, the pans worked well (I left the cakes in one minute too long and they cracked, but that’s okay!) The pans are cheap. They are simple. You MUST grease them well before adding batter, but they performed well and I ended up with four beautiful cake layers! Cheap with cake pans doesn’t really matter as long as you prep correctly. They aren’t non-stick without proper attention, so don’t be shy with greasing! It seems the heat distribution is okay. I mean, the cracking was my own fault and I’ll need to trim the cakes down before frosting anyway, so it isn’t a big deal, but they didn’t cook unevenly from what I can see. I’m happy with the purchase. Just keep in mind that they do not stack easily, so storage isn’t easy!

PME baking pans are quality items that work well and maintain even heat. Hand wash, never put in the dishwasher, and they will last for years. Highly recommend.

ordered 2, 7 inch pans. 1 had a nice dent on the base. I contacted seller and they sent me a replacement. Great service. Pans work as expected. used twice. so far they are good quality
