Great part to reengineer your Honda Lawnmower
I ordered this to resolve a long standing problem with my Honda lawnmower. It uses a Bowden cable terminated in an extension spring to actuate the mower drive when the handle lever is moved forward. The spring hooks through a hole in the lever and it wears and breaks the hook on the spring in a few seasons of use. Honda gets about $30 for a replacement and it's a pain to install as the transmission needs to be dropped to get at the cable attachment. As far as I can tell this design has never been fixed (my mower is about 15 years old) and it really does not represent Honda quality engineering... I'm a retired automotive engineer so I would know! Anyway when the spring recently snapped I ordered this and a cable end and swaged this on the end of the spring then used a screw to attach it at the lever. It is working fine and I expect the worst I'll meet to do is replace the screw periodically. The part is very well made and much cheaper than a new cable from Honda!
