From the design to the packaging I love everything about these weights! I've had way more pickling cucumbers than planned this year and not enough crocks to ferment them in so I turned to half gallon jars and was making due with whatever weights I could devise when I finally took a moment to do a search online for something more suitable. While all of the weights were the same wide mouth size, I was concerned about the knobs and handles for lifting them out as I have had some problems with my hands lately. I saw star shapes and bar shapes, but really wanted something like a drawer knob and this is just that, no problem at all to put in place, no worry about it slipping out of my fingers when removing it. It fits perfectly in any standard wide mouth jar so I can use it for smaller quantities as well. Finally the packaging is a nice thick foam padding with slots for each weight on each side of the foam and slides easily back into the box. All of this for the best price I found anywhere in my search. Elementi for the win!

This is the third set of weights that i am trying. The first brand i tried had the recessed button that is too slippery to work. The second brand i tried had an exposed rectangular knob thing to grab. But, since that company does not tape their product boxes all four fell put into the shipping box and bounced around and all four were chipped. So i tried this brand. These are the best of the three. The recessed knobs on these are mushroom shaped so you can actually grab them to remove them from a jar. Also, they are packed securely so that each on sits in its own cushioned space and protected. I highly recommend this brand!!!

I'm one who may or may not ever write reviews, but I felt like I needed to with this one. it's my first go at fermenting and so I've watched countless videos on it. as far as I can recall the weights used in said videos were relatively small and left a fair amount of room around the weight for the fermenting item to pop up around. these weights however take up nearly the entire width of the jar leaving very little room for stuff to float up. it may not be all that important - as I said I'm new to this - but it certainly felt like a nice and intentional product design to me. will definitely be getting more when the time comes.

I like the design of the glass weight with the small knob on top. It fits perfectly for my wide mouth KERR mason jars. The opening of my jars have the right amount of wiggle room for me to insert and remove the glass weights easily. Love it! I would have liked the glass weights to be a bit heavier, but the size and weight is sufficient for my current application.

These weights are well-designed, durable, and easy to clean. They were packaged well, and I saved the box for storage when they're not in use. If you're going to shake the jar (like if you added dry calcium chloride), do it before placing the weight or the indent around the handle retains some of the liquid, dropping the jar level. Not a big deal. However, these weights don't fit all wide-mouth jars. They fit fine in my Kerr-brand jars, but I picked up a Ball jar somewhere, possibly an older one (it's heavier), and the weight won't go past the throat of the jar.
