I've tried two robot vacs from Amazon before biting the bullet and paying real money for something of better quality. The first vac I got for $150 kept getting stuck under the coffee table and sofa. Returned it. The second vac that I paid $220 for would run out of battery after 30 mins. Returned it.Ordered the Xiaomi after watching a million reviews about it. Caught it on a price drop.It so happens I was cleaning house today when my Xiaomi was delivered. I had just finished vacuuming the whole house with my Dyson so I didn't expect it to pick up too much hair or dirt (I have 2 cats.)I unpacked the Roborock and let it charge to 100%. Setting up the app was tricky. Ended up using the European server and manually adding the device. After it charged I decided to run it, just to see how it would perform. I watched it as it seemed to start off confused. I was just waiting for it to get stuck under something. (Btw, watching the app track its movements in real time is mesmerizing.) It didn't get stuck once!At first I thought there was something wrong with it. It went into the kitchen but didn't finish. I rolled my eyes thinking I'd have to return another vac. But then it did something awesome. I realized it breaks your house up into sections. After it was done with one section it went back and did the other section I thought it had missed. Mind blown.I have low pile rugs in the living room and hallway and the rest is floor. It did fine with no problems. We have a slightly thicker rug in the bathroom which the other vacs both got stuck on. The Xiaomi didn't have one bit of a problem with it. Aced it with flying colors.Another problem I had with the previous two vacs was finding the home base. Half the time they'd run out of battery trying to find the charging dock. The Xiaomi is smart. Since it has mapping features it remembers where its dock is. When it was done, it announced that it was finished cleaning and it went straight back to its home base. No fumbling around, just a straight shot back to it's dock. Oh, and the previous vacs both needed a minimum of 3 feet of free and clear space on all sides of the charging dock (except rear of course) in order for the vac to better find its way home. The Xiaomi needs anout half that amount of space. The manual recommends 0.5 meters of free space on the sides and front of the dock. That's about a foot and a half if I'm not mistaken. But I think it doesn't even need that much space due to its ability to remember its home location.When it docked itself I went to empty the dust bin and was blown away by how much hair and dirt it picked up. All the stuff that my Dyson missed!The most impressive part it that it did all this in 37 mins with 79% battery left. That doesn't include the bedrooms, though, because my wife and kids were sleeping. Speaking of sleep, you can run this at night. WAY more quiet that both vacs I tried previously. I also owned a used Roomba a while ago and those things are way loud. The Xiaomi is refreshingly less noisy, by far.First impressions are everything and the Xiaomi did not disappoint.UPDATE: I took one star away because it is now 12 days past the one year mark since I purchase it and it won't run due to an error code 1 which indicates the LDS sensor motor has probably failed. Up until now, this vavuum has been consistently awesome and I really really love it. So I called Xiaomi customer service in the US and they do not support this device because it is not sold in the US. So now I have to track down the customer service department for the region or country that my particular vacuum came from. Xiaomi's US customer service was very nice and as helpful as they could be, but were very limited in what they could actually do to help me. I found parts online but they all come from China and will take several weeks to receive. I emailed Xiaomi's global support team and am waiting for a response. Will update later as the story develops.

The robot works very well, but would like to inform those considering purchase that it will not connect to the iOS app. After several emails back and forth with the seller, they were unable to resolve the issue and offered the choice of a postage paid return and full refund or the option to keep the unit and a $20 "discount". If you would like the features offered through the app (scheduling, mapping, updates and etc.) and you have an iPhone, I would not recommend the purchase. If you do not care to use those features, then I can report that the robot does a good job of cleaning and returning to dock. If the company would get the app working I would give it five stars.Update: Finally able to connect deviceAfter reading reviews and some trial and error, I was able to connect my iOS device to the robot. I read that other users were having some success with connecting via the European Region, with English as the selected language. I tried this and was not successful initially. I then uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my iPhone, and reset the robot. This time I was able to connect but did have one further issue. Through the app's feedback and FAQ section, I found that the robot will only work with a 2.4 GHz router, not a 5 GHz. Once resetting that feature, I was able to connect the robot to my iOS device. There are many useful features for the app and I am happy to have it working at last. I will now give the unit 4 stars, as the set up could be much easier.

I love this thing! I had bad luck with the Roomba randomly bouncing around the room and getting stuck, but this thing finds its way around obstacles like a champ. It uses a scanner on the top of the robot to make a map of the room and then go back and forth like a lawnmower. It leaves very neat and straight lines on the carpet and looks very tidy compared to the random zig-zags other vacuums make.I have been using this two or three times a week for about four months now and I've had zero issues with the vacuum itself at all. It pulls up a surprising amount of dust, hair, and random particles -- much more than my old robot vacuum.The wet mop does an okay job. Very nice for upkeep, but doesn't completely replace mopping. I would equate it to one gentle swipe over the floor with a wet Swiffer mop. The washable white microfiber pad turns gray, so it definitely works, just not a deep clean.Pros:Long battery life (I can vacuum all three floors)Easy to disassemble and cleanWashable filters and mopping padsLeaves neat and straight lines on the carpetManeuvers very wellSeveral settings through the app -- area clean, multiple passes, silent and turbo mode, remote controlCan control it when you're away from homeCons:The phone app is a little wonky. I could not get it to work on the American server and it took several tries to connect to it with my phone. It probably took 45 minutes to get started.The 'tray' (attached to the charger) the vacuum sits on to prevent the mop from leaking detaches from the charging station very easily. Sometimes the vacuum pushes it right off. I solved the problem by putting a small piece of duct tape underneath and it hasn't been a problem ever again.No handle to carry it. It's not hard to carry the vacuum, but something to hold onto would have been nice.The power cord was not for US outlets. You will need your own. Luckily the shape is fairly common and I got a power cord from my old printer that worked fine.

This machine looks great, has all the accessories, seems high quality and does what the competitors! I have tried the irobot from a cousin of mine and I was impressed. Minus thing was the price but still decided to buy it. Then few days before i buy it , i noticed the review of a guy that was saying he tried this this and this (among them the irobot) and for him the best was the irobot and the xiaomi, but the minus of the irobot was the price so he voted for xiaomi. I have to agree totally with him and plus it mops! What else can I ask for? A high quality robot that vacuums and/or mops and is in a lower price! Not to forget! I can control it from the application! Which to do that with irobot, I had to go over on price for the latest models. The application so far for me is great and i have no problems related to language, like some people mentioned in some reviews. I don't know if it is due to updated application or something. The thing is that you can do everything in english in the application and control the device. I had NO problems installing and connecting the robot with my wifi and my iphone. What else?? That's it more or less! Really excited and we gave her a name with my son :D (Jun), because after all she speaks to us in English ! Hahahaha! Here is a happy customer(at least for now) ! :D

I've been using this item now for 2nd month and I love it. The path it takes seems very optimal; it also fits under my bed and kitchen chairs; each time it works it scans the floor map from scratch so there is no problem that I have two floors.The only small issue that I came across is that for Alexa I need to apparently set server as Singapore; unfortunately for my European location Alexa couldn't find the device.For the mop function it's a good idea to do it room after room and each time clean the mopping part for best effect.Minor things that could be improved: 1) it could detect that I leave for my rooms doors open so it could go inside; currently it may accidentally close them when looking for room boundaries - in such cases I need to repeat cleaning rooms in zoned mode; 2) since it can detect the carpet area, it could use this information for mop function to omit such area (usually one cleaning happens straight after the previous one).Overall it's a great product. I can go outdoor with a kid and get a notification (with a map) when cleaning is complete.My side-note is that the LightInTheBox company offered me great help and support when needed. Thank you.

This vacuum changed the game. Its perfect for those who live on one level. I'm glad I bought it. It still works 5 years later. When it stops working, I'll buy another one without hesitation.

Great product so far; have had it a few days and it has worked brilliantly.Set-up was easy and it came pre configured for English language and Europe as the locale. The way it went about mapping the rooms and methodically covering all areas was really impressive. Most of the controls in the app are easy to set, but there are a couple things I am trying to get the hang of.The timed/scheduled setting works really well, and works out the box on UK time.It found the base station every time and moved from room to room without any issues (carpet, rugs, wooden floor and tiles).So far I am really pleased and will update this if I remember in 6 months time to report on longer use.
