We depend on stews and broths like this to get our cat to take her pill. She likes this product very much and is happy to eat it, although she is a little slower with the shreds. The product seems high-quality: it is very juicy and has lots of meat shreds in it. It is also fairly economical--not a lot more expensive than the cheapest brand in stores but cheaper than the really premium brands. So you get a premium product at a less-than-premium price (about $1.50 per pouch). We are glad we tried it and will keep using it.

My cat won't even taste it - apparently the smell puts him off, and he is typically a food hog. However, I offered some packets to friends to test on their cats, and one has come back positive. So, maybe your cat will like it, and maybe not. Mine is now hooked on Beyond canned food - expensive, but worth it since I don't throw any out.

These pouches are mostly liquid which is great for adding more water to a cats diet. A lot of cats get most of their water from food. My cat prefers to drink his food. I also used them for a stray and her new litter of kittens. The meat is nicely shredded. The pouch tears easily so you don't have to cut open. Plus, you get a lot for such a low price.

I had purchased the Stella and Chewy Salmon and Chicken pouches previously, and they went over well with my cat. In April 2023, I reordered, and it appears the recipe changed. My cat approaches the dish, smells it, and walks away. The mixture is watery, with some gravy-like substance, and there is but a hint of chicken / salmon...or something. It sits untouched for a few minutes and begins to look sickening. I have thrown away 7 packets and will not reorder this again. So, I have 17 packets that are a waste unless my neighbors cats will eat these packets.

This looks like real food, and I believe that it is excellent quality. But of course, my cat won’t eat it. I ordered the Chicken & Salmon, since salmon has been one of her favorite flavors in other brands. My cat has no teeth, but that doesn’t stop her from eating most anything she wants. She has no problem with dry food or treats (of course!), but I usually give her pate in wet food, although she does love gravy. I thought maybe the reason she wouldn’t eat the Stella & Chewy’s was because of the large shreds of chicken, so I gave her mostly gravy and used a fork to mash the chicken into small bits. Nope. She takes one lick of the gravy and walks away. I’ve tried this multiple times with the same response. I’ve even tried pouring some of the gravy over her dry food, since she likes dry food with water on it. No dice. Now, just because my precious kitty sticks her nose up at it, in no way means this is not good cat food. So, I decided I would not knock off any stars for that, since it looks great and has good ingredients. Having said that, I really wish it was available in a variety pack. It is possible that my cat would eat a different flavor, or maybe one of the others doesn’t have the large pieces this one does, but now I have a case of something she absolutely refuses to eat. Being able to try at least a couple of different flavors in one case would have been helpful. Also, each pouch has a lot of food in it! I only have one cat, and she is not a big eater, so I only give her small portions at a time. The pouch has no way to reseal it, so I have to dump the whole thing into a sealable container to save the extra. On the other hand, there isn’t plastic or aluminum to recycle, so that is a benefit. To the manufacturer, please offer a variety pack. You may have more happy customers if you did.

The smell was bad and the color is grey.

The cat who eats everything turned up her nose at this sadly. Licked up the juices, but refused the meat. She has other food options with chicken and salmon so who knows why.
