Got these for HEMA sparring and they work wonderfully. After watching one of our instructors take feder to the ankle, I realized the importance of good lower leg guards. These have small extensions to properly cover the ankles and don't get int he way of your mobility. The velcro attachment to the mating knee pads also really helps to keep them on the front of your leg without shifting/sagging.

Good coverage of the shins and sides of the calves. There's also a small flap that mostly covers the gap between these shin guards and my SPES knee caps, so I'm not worried about any strikes sneaking through the gap. It has better coverage than dirtbike knee-shin guard combos (assuming you have separate knee caps) and similar protection to field hockey shin guards (but without needing to wear socks/sleeves to hold them). The only issue that I found is that the middle elastic velcro strip is too short, so I usually leave it undone and let it flap around.

Velcro on HEMA gear almost universally sucks, and the velcro on these is no exception. It will either wear out or fall off (the stitching keeping the velcron on the strap is bad) within three months, you'll probably be forced to replace the loop side. Otherwise, these shin guards are great. Good protection and padding, good mobility, easy to don and doff. Yeah, beware, the knees are sold separately.

These are actually a great pair of shin guards for HEMA. I bought the combo with the knee pads and they fit nicely over my SPES pants. The knees attach to the arming points with a bungee cord, and the Velcro straps secure them in place. There is additional Velcro on the knee to attach to the shin pads. The shin pads are lightweight, and offer excellent protection with steel weapons. They have additional protection over the ankle that is necessary for bone protection on the sides of the ankle. The ankle pads were a little stiff at first but so soften with some use. Overall, these are a great option for lower leg protection for full speed steel sparring. I’m happy that Amazon has some HEMA gear with fast shipping. HEMA gear is notorious for low stock and slow shipping times, this is a nice option to have. Good for beginners and advanced users.

I use this for HEMA longsword and other weapons combatives These guards allow good movement and are full coverage from foot to knee, including a small piece that over/under laps your knee pads. 10/10 will buy again

Bought these thinking they were all in one based off my search (for Hema Knee Pads) and the pictures all showing the knee pads attached. These are not all in one pads. They look OK, I cannot currently really test them as they are lacking knee protection, which is what I really needed, less so the shin guards

The pictures for this product show the knee pads as well as the shin guards. This is misleading. The knee pads are sold separately. Wack.

La tibia è protetta da una placca, si consiglia di comprare le ginocchiere in abbinato per protebbere completamente la parte inferiore dell'arto perché questi parastinchi non coprono il ginocchio.
