After carefully inspecting this couch, I'm very happy to report it is 100% top grain leather ALL Around. It is NOT bonded leather nor does it use cheap synthetic leather on the sides and back. The finish is minimal, with no synthetic coating on the leather, which is what you want on real leather furniture. Note that spills WILL stain this real leather sofa, so I strongly recommend applying a water repelling leather conditioner to help with that. The sofa looks fantastic and is very comfy (on the stiffer side, which is what you want with chesterfield sofas). The photos I attached are before and after applying chamberlains leather milk no. 3 (conditioner and water repellent). The left side is untouched and right side has the conditioner applied so you can compare the contrast in appearance and color. I also attached photos of the underside which shows the guts and elastic bands that form the suspension for the seats and back (as opposed to metal springs/wire mesh). PLEASE NOTE: If you've never owned a real leather sofa before, or if you don't know much about leather, you MUST understand that real leather (such as this sofa) WILL easily scratch and have scuffs and wrinkles over time. No matter the quality of real leather, this will happen be because leather is animal skin. That's just the way it is. In fact, your sofa will likely have some scuffs straight from the factory as ours did. This is NORMAL. Just apply some goodeather conditioner and it will minimize the appearance of scuffs and make it harder (but not impossible) to scratch. If you want a leather sofa that always looks prestine, then you'll have to buy one with a bunch of synthetic crap coating the leather, which defeats the purpose and lasts only a few years before it starts to peel and look horrible. You also need to maintain leather by regularly applying leather conditioner. I use Chamberlains leather milk no. 3 but even basic automotive leather conditioner like Lexol will work fine and it's inexpensive. Just don't over do it. (see photos). However, this is definitely to be expected at this price point and the density of the cushions is good enough to hopefully prevent premature wear on them. -the leather has a number of minor blemishes and has sections that are significantly different in terms of texture than the adjacent leather, which is not a big deal unless you're a snob about it, in which case you shouldn't be looking at a leather sofa for less than $3,500. You'll need to move up to Hooker or Bradington Young to get more consistent texture in leather. Hope this helps and feel free to ask questions.

It's just perfect. I've been on the market for a leather sofa for years. In fact, I'd looked for so long that I was nearly sick of them. We remain sheltering-in-place in Virginia because of health issues and our job shutdowns (in Houston), so making our living room as attractive and comfortable as possible was a top priority. I finally realized that this one just kept drawing my eye and attention, especially in the "cognac" color. I was almost suspicious that it would look cheap or have shoddy construction as the price was so reasonable. I need not have worried at all. It is elegant, well-made, beautiful and very, very comfortable. We're not a very formal family and I also was concerned it wouldn't fit with some of our other furniture, but that was silly. It's a very flexible style and the cognac color both dresses the room up but doesn't upstage it. We couldn't be happier with our purchase!

Beautiful furniture! I adore it. Soft and pleasant to touch, does not smell. It's real leather! I have been trying to find couches for my living room for two years, and I learned that you can't get genuine leather for less than $2,000 so that this was a great find and great deal. I got cognac color. I have received so many compliments from many guests. The couch and the armchair look so elegant in my living room, not imposing like some of the typical furniture that you might get at Bob's. I have kids and they have not scratched the couch or the armchair, and they have been climbing on it with bare feet. Because of the design, it's actually comfy for little kids to sit on the arms of the couch/armchair, though I tell them not to climb on it. It does not scratch easily. It looks amazing. Get it, you won't regret it. PS: the only minus is when it arrived, the amazon delivery brought it inside the living room, but they did not want to unbox the furniture. The delivery was on time, and they brought the boxes into the house.

It is real leather but a little dried out so conditioning is a must. I purchased the couch and the chair. Will eventually buy the sofa. The cognac color is on point. I have wanted the chesterfield couch forever, but can’t afford that couch on my budget. I have spent years looking for a quality imitation and found it through Amazon. The couch alone for the size purchased is around 5 grand for the real version. It fit through my apartment door with ease. My door width is 36 inches. Easy to put the legs on as well. It will fit in an elevator out of the box and Amazon paid for the furniture to be set up (couch only), but my driver unboxed both and set up. Would recommend purchasing again and I will be getting another.

I wanted a beautiful sofa with a low back that was easy to keep clean and would create minimal dust. This one checked all the boxes so much so that I’m going to get a second one for my Airbnb. I needed a low backed sofa in my home because it faces the fireplace with French doors to the back of it. Didn’t want the French doors to be obscured. We also eat on the sofa most nights as we’re retired and can do whatever we want…lol. I’m a clean a phob when it comes to dust so always looking for ways to reduce. Excellent product, plenty comfortable to begin with but does soften in time to be even more comfrey. I’d highly recommend.

The couch is actually sturdy and good quality. The "leather" is thick. It is comfy and just what I was looking for BUUUT... it came in a severely damaged box. Good news: that didn't seem to affect the product. Bad news: the product had a flaw anyway. Looks like the base board on one side was placed incorrectly. It's not broken like it looks in the photos. Just place at an angle. Instead of fixing it, the leather was just stapled to it causing this extreme damaged look. Not impressed with the care in craftsmanship there. I will update once I can contact the seller.

I replaced a very expensive, genuine leather sofa with two of these and could not be happier! I was worried with reviews stating that it was bonded leather and scratched easily, but it scratches less than what I replaced it with, and it is NOT the bonded leather of the past. It looks and feels like genuine leather. It is a fraction of the cost of poorly made chesterfields I looked at. The color is beautiful, not as light as my pictures, and it is surprisingly comfortable. I have these is our main living area with a child and dog running in and out and climbing on them. The cushions are velcroed in, but not to the point you can’t remove them for vacuuming. The delivery was amazing, they were very well packaged, and the legs were securely placed in the bottom of the couch. I was so nervous purchasing sofas online, but this far exceeded my expectations!
