QualGear Pro-AV QG-KIT-CA-3IN-B Single Joist Ceiling Adapter, 3" 1.5" Projector Mount Kit Accessory, Black

I needed a mount with a specific drop down in length and this was next to the only thing available with a swappable pipe length system that looked reliable. The next thing I was going to get if this didn't work was a Peerless mount, which was going to cost well into the $150+ range after needing all the bells and whistles. Glad I decided to try this mount out. I was worried that this would not fit my BenQ HT2050a but decided to look at the measurements and it seemed like this could fit pretty much close to anything with a little tinkering. Well I'm happy to report that this does in fact fit the BenQ HT2050 / HT2050a. See my first image attached on how I was able to connect all three mounting points. I was able to point the mount in the direction of the screen too (there's arrows that point to the direction it should face). I only needed three arms, so I took off the fourth too. The arm that is sticking out in front does not interfere with the image on the screen as well. The current measurements that I got with the default 3 inch included pipe (which actually measures to something like 4.75 inches with the threads) from the ceiling to center of the lens was 10.5 inches. I needed it to sit around 11.5" - 12". Luckily this mount is compatible with the standard 1.5" NPT threaded pipes in the plumbing aisle of home depot. So I ended up buying a 6" NPT 1.5" threaded pipe for I think like $6/$7. With this swapped pipe out, now it will sit for me at 11.75" -- perfect. Another thing that I was worried about was not having the pipe lined up with one of my joists since they run longways in the room and not side to side. In the directions they have you use the center holes only for mounting to a wood joist and the other four for cement installation. I needed to have it offset from the joist so I used one of the corner holes in a wood joist and the opposite corner hole with a toggle bolt that holds up to 95 lbs. Seems pretty sturdy to me. That one screw in the joist should be enough to hold it to be honest. It took me a couple of hours after work to measure, prep, figure out the mounting situation on the projector, run to home depot, measure five more times, and then decide on a spot making sure I was going into a joist, and finally installing it. Lot of pressure trying to decide where you want it to sit. If I need to move it down the road I'll probably install a painted piece of plywood mounted to the joists for flexibility sake. So happy it's up now and ready to continue working on the room / screen. For what you get I would definitely rate it five stars. Simple and straightforward and useful for rotation and flexibility of length with the 1.5" NPT threads. My situation, experience, mounting and length requirements is certainly irrelevant of the product.

Ceiling mounted a Sony 1100 projector weighing 44+ pounds. Yes, as with any heavy projector, you must be certain your ceiling will support the weight and as I had to do, add reinforcement to be certain. No big deal, just something you need to be aware of. This mount has a 70 pound capacity so it gave me great headroom for the projector. Adjustments are a little of a pain as you will need to loosen three Allen head screws on each side (6 total) for both X and Y axis adjustments. This is a little cumbersome but once accomplished, it is rock solid. Again, not a deal breaker as it just requires a little patience. The quick release feature is robust but you do have to be cautious when attaching the projector as one slip could be bad. I man handled the 44 pound projector by myself but would highly recommend using at least one other person for heavy projectors so they can stabilize the projector while you tighten the screws. I have added a safety cable for my own peace of mind but it is not necessary. Fit and finish is great. All components (screws, washers, Allen wrenches) are bagged separately and very well organized. Assembly is simple and straight forward. The Sony 1100 has only three mounting holes and although this mount would work as is after removing one mount arm, I wanted the pipe to be better centered on the projector and closer to the rear hole so I fabricated an accessory out of one inch aluminum angle that spanned two of the mount holes after removal of the two arms impacted. That left two arms to attach to the most forward two mount holes and resulted in better centering the main pipe much closer to the projectors center of gravity. I would highly recommend this mount if the weight of your projector warrants it. Fit and finish is excellent.

This is a heavy duty mount. The mounting plate has six mounting holes. Two in the middle for a 3/8" bolt and four in the corners for 1/4" bolts. This mount is generally meant for larger/heavier projectors and meant to be screwed directly into a ceiling joist or suitable blocking. I am using this with a 6-inch extension pipe and a LG HU810PW projector and the mount/projector assembly weight right at 30 pounds as weighed on a postage scale. You cannot mount this kind of weight into sheetrock, no matter if you use toggle bolts or anything else. The mount needs to go into a block of wood or a stud with suitably beefy mounting screws/bolts. In my case, I installed 2x6 blocking between two studs and through-bolted the mount with 3/8" bolts. It's not going anywhere. Just be advised if you're looking at a heavy duty mount like this, you're probably in the same weight situation as I am, so plan accordingly. I read a bunch of comments that the extension tubes/pipes are not NPT. I can't comment on that as I used the manufacturer's 6" extension. Seen enough of these made in China mounts to know that when they try to implement US standards like NPT, sometimes they succeed, other times not so much. Just spend the extra few bucks to the the manufacturer's extension tube vs. a pipe from the big box store and have a guaranteed fit.

The QualGear single joist mount worked very well with my Optima UHD65. Very solid construction and materials, good instructions, and made the final installation of the projector look professional. I dropped a star only because I am not crazy about the set screw design. There is a set screw on both ends of the NPT pipe, and to get the pipe to snug down so that the projector doesn't easily rotate, you need to tighten both down fairly hard in my experience. As the set screw hole is over the NPT pipe's threads, it created deformed the threads a bit which made taking the pipe off difficult. Not a huge deal, and if I would have ran my wires correctly the first time, I wouldn't have had to take the pipe back off.

I upgraded from an Optima 720p projector to an Epson 5040ub home cinema. The larger projector required a larger support span and this worked great. I didn’t use the ceiling mount plate or extension tube as this easily fit the existing mounting pipe I had installed. However the ceiling plate looks very sturdy and I may install eventually as I like the snap over cover and the ability to feed wiring down through the tube that I don’t have now. I would give this 4.5 stars as I preferred the knurled knobs on my old mount for adjusting the angles, but the allen head screws on this system worked perfectly fine. Another bonus is it came with a variety of mounting bolts to allow for different size projectors. A nice touch. I would definately recommend this unit.

When I upgraded to a newer Sony 4K projector I felt it would be necessary to also upgrade my current ceiling mount because the weight difference between the older unit and the newer unit were nearly double. This new mount is perfect for the Sony unit and after just a few minutes of tinkering with it the picture is centered and completely stable on the screen. Movie time. Has been up for over a month now and has not moved one bit. I did drill out the mount holes so I could install larger lag bolts that got mounted into the rafters. I doubt it was required but I just felt better doing it because of the size of the projector and the expense of the unit as well. This mount is very solid and has all of the necessary adjustments to fine tune the projector. The hole in the center of the tube also allowed for the cable management of the fiber HDMI cable that drops down through the ceiling. The hole is hidden by the base cover. Perfect!!! The unit doesn't hang too far below the ceiling but definitely is not what I would describe as a flush mount either. You cannot install this without the down tube. The tube is threaded on both ends and screws into each. There are set screws to prevent it from vibrating loose. I thought about going to the local hardware store and having the tube shortened more, but ended up using it as is. There is enough room to allow proper air flow around the entire projector and access to all of the adjustment screws, which are the main reasons I did not shorten the tube. I would not hesitate to recommend this mount to anybody else.

BenQ has a very long span for the arms on their projectors. The HT8060 was 17.5" and I only found 2 that reach out to 18" and I clicked EVERY projector mount sold by Amazon as most are 12" or 16". Also checked the big box projector stores and Google. As for the product is it perfect. It can pitch and tilt for what ever you need. Threads for an extension pipe. Easy slide on and off the mount. Large holes for big bolts for mounting. Even BenQ offers no suggestions so glad I found this and it is a great item.

Feels very sturdy and solid build. Using to mount my Epson 3800. Allows for lots of versatility and adjustability. Very stable. I had to buy a longer pipe to to attach the mount to my ceiling, because the one provided is maybe 6 inches long I think, and for my setup I needed something a little longer. Was able to find a 12-in pipe at my local hardware store and it worked perfectly in the setup

Very easy to install. Used on JVC DLA-RS3100 (NZ8) that weighs just over 50lbs. Seems very solid and easy to align picture to screen. Was looking at much more expensive mount for this $20,000.00 projector but couldn't get one fast enough so tried this one. Would recommend to anyone for the new JVC laser projectors.

These projector mounts are as solid and strong as I have ever installed. Easy to loosen and remove projector and reinstall and get it back into position almost instantly.

No problem at all and quick install.

Originally purchased to mount the 1.5mm thread Chief Anti Vibration. Do not purchase over priced extention. They take regular 1.5mm pipe thread which can be purchased from home depot or plumbing store. It holds a very good weight and adjustment is not easy. With patience its great for value. Recommend a Chief Anti Vibration if the projector placement is basement. No more vibration!

The mount is very sturdy and tight and easy to adjust mounting is simple and lots of options for all style projectors. Highly recommend at this price
