Wiha 76000 SoftFinish CentroFix Bit Holder

This is the best bit holder I have ever owned. I use this daily at work installing network and security devices which require a bunch of different bits so I am constantly changing them. This thing is solid! It feels like a one piece tool, no wobble, no slop, even with 110mm long bits. The handle is very comfortable and really fits my hand well with the right amount of grip. The bit chuck is easy to use and precisely machined. This thing just exudes quality. I was a little skeptical when I ordered it based on the price but the quality and fit is worth it.

It's pricey, but it's perfect. This holds bits so tight, there is NO movement whatsoever. Absolutely amazing mechanism. And you do not require any specific bits to make it work properly. It holds every bit I have just as tight. I really wish they would sell the bit holder separately with a square 1/4" adapter on the other end. Wera makes one that is decent but lots of slop and not even a comparison to this amazing bit holder. The other thing missing from Wiha is a ratcheting bit driver with this same bit holder mechanism. That would be perfect. And again, Wera makes several of them (816s, 838s), but the quality of those is disappointing. So to summarize, the only complaint I have about this perfect driver is that I want more! I cannot stress enough, if you use 1/4" hex bits, and you can afford this driver, then it's an absolute must have. There's almost no chance whatsoever that you will regret the purchase.

If you pair this with a quality hex bit, it feels like it's welded on. I am certainly not a stranger to cheap drivers, and I've used very expensive ones, so when you feel it in the hand, you know this is the one to get. It's the right length, it feels good in the grip, it exudes sturdiness and durability, and the functionality you'll have with a set of good driver bits is hard to beat, and in a compact package that will provide plenty of portability. I feel this Wiha driver is excellent value for your money. I wish I found it years ago.

I got obsessed with buying bit drivers trying to find the best. I kept skipping over this because no ratchet and no bit storage? But after hearing such good things from so many people I bought one and am now convinced. The highlight is the centrofix bit holder. Its the best by a mile. Most bit holders are fine for 1" bits. Some tiny bit better than others but it usally isn't huge deal. When you start using 2" or Wera 89mm or 159mm bits they just make every other bit holder feel like cheap junk they're so sloppy. Yet Centrofix when it locks on a 159mm long bit it literally feels like a 1 piece screwdriver. There is zero play. It feels like such quality every time you use it. The longer bits make getting into tight fights so much easier but have always avoided them because how sloppy they feel. But no longer. As for rest of bit driver, the lack of ratchet/storage is only negative. Lack of storage makes it a bit less handy but when actually using it the lighter weight is nice. Shape also fits my hand perfectly. Just enough diameter and with the grippy surface I can apply lots of torque, yet it doesn't feel bulky when dealing with tiny screws. FWIW I was doing 7nm with ease -- Which is usually most I need to do and I'm happy if I can without hand slipping or having to grip so hard shape hurts my hand or something. One thing to note there is a yellow ESD version of this bit driver that is tiny bit narrower which may be preferrable to you.

This is a simple, hand held, bit-locking driver, if that's what you are after. It accepts the standard 1/4th inch bits that fit your various screw heads. They lock into the holder with no magnet. It has a collar that you push forward to engage and the bit locks in when it retracts back. To release, you push the collar forward and it lets go. There is no magnet to hold the bit in beyond this. A weak magnet would be a nice touch to keep bits from going flying, when you are careless. The connection is solid though. It locks bits in there tight. You can use 1" or longer bits if you want a little more reach. Let's face it. Screwdriver tips wear out, not usually the handles and shafts. So just throw on a new tip when it's time has come. That's about it for function.... Form is ideal though. It's solid and weighty, but not overly so. Feels solid and durable. The red on the handle is a hard plastic, and the black is a solid rubber for grip. The strength is in the shape though. It is correctly shaped to fit in the hand very well. Your hand works with the last three fingers providing most of your grip strength and the thumb and pointer finger used for pinching things. (That's why in ancient Japan, a punishment for Samurai was cutting off the pinky finger, which put them at great disadvantage in gripping a sword securely) This handle takes advantage of the anatomy, with a fat, meaty end for grasping, and a thinner neck for the thumb and index finger to fit for fine movements. It feels perfect, perfect in your hand. My only issues with alignment. I had to return the first one due to the handle and head being offline by 5-10 degrees to the right. This one is better, but still seems just a hair off to the back this time. Still, not enough for me to return, but pay attention and make sure yours is in plumb on arrival. Overall, it's a solid, simple bit-holding screwdriver with a perfect handle.

I never used the ratchet function that come on the pricier ratcheting screwdrivers so I opted for a fixed shaft version. This driver is great. Bit insertion and changing is super quick and easy to use. Size fits nice in my hands and feels nice and durable. For 16 bucks, it’s a great deal for what you get.

Excellent screwdriver.. The centrifix bit holder mechanism is unparalleled and holds.the bit securely with no "Wobble" like others. Nice feel in your hand. Well worth the money..

Holds every type of bit you can imagine and it holds them TIGHT! No slop or play in the bits whatsoever. The grip itself is also very comfortable.
