Zep is my 'go to' for a clogged toilet. Might not work on first try ... or second ... even third ... BUT it eventually works and isn't as 'messy' or gross as using a snake. ~half bottle, 12 hour wait, HOT water chaser for 15 minutes ... flush *use when the house has multiple toilets because the clogged toilet will be unavailable **IF you need immediate results, use a snake or call a plumber

So I had an upstairs toilet issue. When using the shower or the 2 sinks in the main bath, the toilet will make a gargle noise, backup but not over flow, and the water in the toilet will be up to the rim for almost 5 hours before it flushed. Even if I flush the toilet, the same would happen. After reading reviews and leaning on my understanding of chemistry and cooking. I realized that the main drain in my townhome ran through my upstairs shower. So I removed the shower drain cover and poured the entire bottle of Zep down the drain. I waited 5 hours. Mostly because I had others things to do. I then heated water in a midsize pot until it started to boil. Once it began to boil I left the cover on the pot but let it sit with the heat off. I then (with oven gloves) carried the cover pot to the bathroom and slowly poured the hot water down the shower. I waited ...some odd hours later I heard something like a demon from h*ll coming from my upstairs bathroom. I don't know why I ran towards it. Every black person knows to run in the opposite direction in scary movies. But I ran to the noise. When I arrived the floor of my shower was covered in what I thought was BM but later realized it was mud/ dirt and Lord knows what ever. There was no odor. I then tested the toilet because I noticed it was back at normal level in the bowl. The toilet flushed with gusto and didn't make a noise or back up when using the sinks or shower. I then used a half of gallon of Clorox to clean my shower with a long arm brush & sponge. Total resolve time : 12-16 hours

This is the only product we will use for unplugging drains. We use it periodically on the kitchen drain bc we use minimal water to wash waste off dishes. Eventually the drain will go slow. We leave it in overnight. Flush it out with a bucket of hot water in the am. Always works!

DOES NOT WORK. Literally had to use the entire thing a little at a time because it wouldn’t work at all. Doesn’t drain any differently and I just wasted my time. It’s a waste of money. Do not buy. It’s better to just pay a little extra for Draino or something.

Best stuff for clearing our drains. used other stuff for our hard water deposits and our bathroom drain would start clogging up at least every 2 months. Been using this stuff for over 2 years now and not one issue.

I thought that my sink's water supply had magically gained an on again off again sulfur smell. Turns out, there was just something growing in the drain, and that water was disturbing it, causing the sulfur smell to waft upward. Leaving this in the drain for a few hours fixed that problem. Throwing this down the kitchen sink drain may have killed off a gnat issue as well. I'd frequently wake up to two or three gnats hanging out near the kitchen sink. But after a treatment of this stuff, no gnats. ...or whatever the tiny winged bugs were. They were slow enough to easily swat / squish manually.

I don’t usually write reviews, but after battling my kitchen sink for days, I feel like I just won a war. Plungers? Useless. Every other drain cleaner I could find? Nope. Even my auger failed me. I was this close to calling a plumber, but I figured I’d take one last shot with this product. And guess what? It actually worked! Took a few rounds—my clog was determined—but I could see progress each time, my sink slowly admitting defeat. Now that my pipes are back in working order, I’m not taking any chances and ordered another bottle for monthly maintenance cause there is no way in hell I'm going through all that again.

purchased to use on a monthly basis to prevent drain enzyme build-up.. I live in a building built in the 70's and the plumbing system is not great so hopefully monthly doses of Zep will help.

Is it me or does my slow drain always plug when I put drain cleaner in it?

Good quality and great for my plastic pipes since it is not corrosive. It provided better results than Draino for my metal pipes as well.
