I usually get the jalapeño flavored but thought I’d give this flavor a try. I am not disappointed. The sticks are moist and the pepper spice is perfect. Great for an easy protein snack on the go.

I always liked meat sticks as a snack particularly when I was hiking. These original chicken sea salt and pepper are now my favorite. They are only 50 cal./ 6 G protein/ free of preservatives/ 1 pt WW/ gluten free.. which is great since my wife can’t have gluten and I’m a long time WW guy. The taste and consistency…. not as oily in the mouth as most popular “meat sticks”in my opinion. These sticks have a solid yet slightly chewy texture that makes me feel like I’m “eating something” so a very satisfying snack. The flavor is mild, not overly salty and the pepper flavor doesn’t overwhelm.. I love the convenience of stuffing them in my pocket while hiking or tucked in my car console to prevent the fast food temptation when driving. I particularly like to dip them in a bit of spicy mustard when I’m kicking back.

I just read multiple other reviewers who essentially had the same complaint: the chicken sticks, which are ordinarily delicious, and are not expired according to the date printed on the package, are completely dried up and leathery. Because the water is gone, they are way too salty to eat, and have a texture rather like packed sawdust. Inedible. I ordered four different kinds and three of them were shriveled and dry. The other one was packed not just in a cardboard box, but in a sealed plastic bag inside of that box, and they were fine. These are just being improperly packaged and stored. I’m sure they’re not dangerous, but they aren’t good either. Attempting a return through the usual channels just said that it was non-returnable because it’s food, but clicking “I need more help“ led me to the Amazon interior and the chat Bot gave my money back.

I do not have a problem with putting these down instead of in my mouth. The non-problem started w/a coworker leaving a bag for us in our breakroom. I was skeptical. Chicken? But I tried one. And now I have this non-problem. They are awesome, and my favorite flavor so far is the original sea salt and pepper. I think if you like beef sticks there's a good chance you'll like these too. They do have their own flavor, but the difference compared to beef is a real plus for me--it's a less heavy taste than beef, and by just the right amount. I do eat jerky a lot, but when I don't feel like something that heavy these are now my go-to.

Good product. Tastes good. Good for counting macros. Have purchased more than once.

I snack on these throughout the day at work. They taste great! Non-greasy feel and taste. These are the only meat sticks my nephew will eat
