Duct Reducer, For Nominal Duct Diameter 8 in, Inlet Diameter 8 in, Inside Diameter 8 in, Overall Length 6 in, Product Type Reducer, Weight 40.75 lb, Material Thickness 26 ga, Maximum Pressure Rating 3 in wc, Maximum Temperature Rating 212 Degrees F, Material Steel, Seal Material Not Applicable, Standards ASTM A653, ASTM A90, ASTM A924, SMACNA Third Edition 2005, Section, Shape Straight, Gas Appliance Category Not Applicable, Maximum Airflow Not Applicable, Outlet Diameter 4 in Review: 8" x 4" Round Reducer Duct Fitting, 26 ga. - This was used to reduce the outside air inlet from 8" to 4" for our furnace. When we had our 30 year old furnace replaced the company said there had to be an 8" outside air inlet. All they did was make a hole in the side of the house with a external screened duct. This was in the wood framing between the basement cement wall and main part of the house. They didn't bring it into the home any further. When the inspector came out he said it did not need to be that large. Since it was 8" hole in the side of the house it was cold in the basement in the winter. I checked several new homes in the area and none were larger than 4" inlets. In some, I saw no evidence of this outside inlet at all. Using the reducer was easier than trying to remove the 8" screened duct and reduce the 8" hole in the wood in the basement to 4". I have extended the duct work all the way to the furnace and down toward the floor for the outside air intake which should prevent the basement being cold in the winter while allowing sufficient outside air flow to the furnace. Review: Really a nicely made piece of sheet metal, heavy gauge, seams sealed and riveted - Just received this reducer today and opened up the box and found a beautiful piece of hardware! The big box hardware stores must have ruined my expectations. This piece of tin is beautifully made, seams are sealed and riveted and significantly heavy a guage that it's not readily deformed. If I sound a little overboard, well I like quality workmanship and it's kind of a pity it's going to go into my attic not to be seen. In short this is worth every penny, don't believe me, take this bad boy to home depot and compare it to their similar products. This one is really a quality made part. This is my opinion, I didn't get paid or given the item. If you need it, don't waste your time with looking anywhere else.

I'm very happy with this piece. It fits perfectly and is made out of solid metal that would be hard to bend.

Bad customer service
Bought in November as part of a Christmas present for my father. The week after Christmas we went to the cabin to hook everything up and this was to short. Tried to return and was "denied" because it was over 30 days. It was a Christmas present of course it was going to be over 30 days.

Perfect
This is a well made product. It doesn't leak and it's very solid. I had no concern about warping it when I was tightening the clamps.
