IR Illuminators 96pcs,High Power Infrared LED Lights for Security Camera

Waiting for nightfall was the hardest part about installing these illuminators. I bought 2 and used 30ft extensions to power them. No visible projected light at all, just the slight red glow from the LEDs when looking back at them while standing in the dark. But...Looking through the camera's lens, you can see everything! Clearly lit in a huge area! I am very pleased with this item and will be purchasing more to increase property coverage. I have given 5 stars upon this review for nightvision, brightness and water resistant. Having done so, I must point out my not having these 2 months yet, even though being rained on a few times, they do appear and function perfect. I should think they will remain doing so for some time. One is mounted under an overhang, one is fully exposed to weather. I will return with an update if ever one fails. So...NO news will be good news!

Update 2/16/2022: This illuminator died in October 2021.. It lasted about four years. Very disappointing. :-( I felt I needed to pass this on to others. ——- The IR Illuminator LEDs work very well. The beam appears to be closer to a 40 degree angle, which is about the 45 degrees as advertised - OK . Reasonably good for close to medium throws outdoors, but for indoor use, look for a more wide beam unit than this unit is. The unit is advertised for outdoor use. The LEDs have a discernable dull red glow when viewed head-on, therefore it is is slightly visible at night. If this would be a problem, then use a 970 nm wavelength, but first check your camera to be certain that it isn't outside of the recommended operating specs. It is 12 VDC so buy a converter if used on household 120VAC power. It has a photoelectric switch built-in so it only operates when dark. The body is a finned metal casting and built ruggedly. I'm not disappointed and recommend it.

I purchased this 96-LED rectangular IR illuminator for $22 in January 2024. It draws 0.57A at 12.1V. That's 6.9W. However, not all of that power goes to the LEDs. Each set of 8, 6-LED strings has a current regulator that dissipates 2.5 of the 12.1 V applied (1.4W total). Each string also contains a 27-ohm resistor, dropping about 0.9V (0.5 W total). The net power applied to the LEDs is 5.0 W. The circuit pushes about 34 mA through each LED. Vf at room temperature is around 1.48 V. Common 850 nm LEDs have a maximum current rating of 30 mA and recommended current of 20 mA. Thus, this device might overdrive its LEDs and cause early failure of same. To enable the LEDs to last longer, one may need to change the current-sensing resistor. My initial experience is that this unit illuminates a small spot in my back yard. I was hoping for a floodlight, but this unit is better for illuminating a single object or region of interest.

bought this because the IR in camera died this worked great. And I think because of placement my neighbors motion light would come on and off all the time. I think that may have caused half the IR bulbs to quit. would rather blame that then say it failed. Bottom line is only half the IR's work now, But still does fairly good job Hence 3 stars

Smaller, brighter and impressive would put out in the open more where ambient can hit the sensor and shut it off during the day burnt out way to quick 2.5 years

I was extremely disappointed with this product. It took me a decent amount of effort to install because I wanted to hide the power cord, but this was my choice and not the fault of the product. HOWEVER, the light output from this product was extremely disappointing. I do not think the 45 degree wide angle is a very accurate description and any space outside of the center is extremely dark. What makes it even worse is that the light broke on me within a month. If you look closely at the photo you can see that only half of the LEDs are fully illuminated while the other half is very dim. The usual culprit might be too weak of a power source, but I am using a 12V 1A power adapter as instructed and the light worked just fine initially. Again, VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Works good but not as diffused or spread out as much as I would like. Acts more like a spot light than I was hoping for. Put it up on the barn corner to illuminate the lot so I could see with my security camera if any one tried to sneek around the corner. It does the job but is a little to narrow up close to the barn. I guess I could fix the problem by mounting it farther away but I don't have electricity anywhere close except where it is and already used an extension for it.

Works as intended with broad light coverage. I use it together with the Quest 2 VR headset for illuminating my dark room for aiding tracking.

Il est bien mais le faisceaux est étroit il faut alors éclairer de très loin, donc pour moi bof.... La finition n'est pas trop mal.

This works more like a spot light. I wish it was more like a flood light to cover a wider area.

In der Beschreibung ist von 40 Meter Reichweite die Rede. Aus meiner Sicht eine absolute Übertreibung. Nach ca. 3 Metern wirds finster (Blick durch Infrarotkamera). Zudem ist die Leuchtwirkung extrem Spot-artig. Man muss also einen kreisförmigen Punkt in 3 Meter Abstand in der Nacht beobachten wollen, dann passt dieses Produkt.
