New Metal Watch Band Strap Link Pin Remover Remove Repair Tool Kit for Watchmakers with 4 Extra Pins

I broke a few of my plastic tools removing links off a watch but this tool is sturdy, effective and adjustable. There are adjustable bottom seats that allow the link to rest precisely at the height needed for the push push pin to line up. This tool made the job easier and is better than anything I've ever owned or used before.

If you've ever bought one or more "professional" watch tool sets currently sold on Amazon, you know the deal. They come with everything you need, we're told, to change out a dead battery or resize a watch band, and I suppose that's true -- but it's only true once because the tools are of such poor quality that by the time you're finished sizing one band the link remover tools (like this one) are broken or bent, as are any of the little pin punches. I've bought three or four such kits hoping to find an exception, but they're not worth the price of postage, especially if you're working on a watch you bought somewhere other than the Walmart jewelry counter that you'd rather not scratch. Basically, all of these link remover tools sold on Amazon look identical, following one of two propototypes. The basic design idea seems sound, but the metal is so soft that it seems like melted down resin core solder., poured into molds to form ill-fitting pieces. So I was quite shocked when I received this OTOOLWORLD link remover, as it actually seems built to survive more than one use. The screw shafts turn smoothly through the frame with little to no play. Also, the round platform pieces that raise or lower the watchband when you turn them unti the push pin aligns with the watchband link pins -- well, they function smoothly and work as designed, instead of falling out when you turn them. Look, this device is not a precision part suitable for the James Webb telescope, but it's infinitely better than any others I've bought here, and it actually works for occasional home use. It's well worth the price!

Well made and solid watch link removal tool. Does not break or bend like others made from plastic. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Plus: All metal, no plastic. I expect it will last a long time. Good design; one side for pin removal, the other to push the pin back in. Minus: rough finish, would not appear nice when working on a high end watch. Does the job, but finishing could be much improved.

Cheap price cheap quality, and works well

This watchband pin pusher was made to fail. I thought a metal pusher would be better than the ones made of plastic. Although it was made of metal, let's say the tolerances were very generous... meaning the screw threads were extremley sloppy. I did try to use it, I lined up the push pin with the watchband pin. When I attempted to push the pin, all it did was bend the push pin. They only supplied one push pin with the kit, but it wouldn't have mattered, a new pin would have just bent anyway. Save your money, instead buy a kit with a watch block, mini-hammer, and pusher pins.

This little gem does exactly what it is intended for and I particularly like the pin insertion vise in addition to the pin extraction device. Adjustable band thickness is controlled by lower knob. Extra pins is a plus if you get things a little out of alignment and break one but this is unlikely .

OK tool. This is an upgrade from the single pin remover I have as this has a second post that is blunt for pushing pins back into the band - saving having to hammer them all the way in - a hammer can finish pin insertion to even the pin with the side of the band. Still, the elevation platform is large threaded so it feels a bit crude and moves up and down quickly. In use, the elevation is much smoother than a cheaper model I have. The draw back here is the size of the pin. Several watches have smaller pins than the removal pin on this device. Then I have to resort to the thinner pin in the cheaper, crude remover. Glad I didn't discard it when this arrived.

Sturdy, easy to use, avoids scratching your bracelet, avoid damaging the pin and collar systems, avoid braking your strap tool tips.

Solid metal. If you take your time, this little machine works well.

I got this watch and band for my wife for Christmas. Only downside is it came 3 weeks late. But my wife loved it and the vintage gold, elegant, tastefully slender band. Hard to hate something as nice as this and also hard to find. I'll say this one is a 7 star.
