Tech21 iPhone 14 Pro Evo Max Compatible with MagSafe – Durable, Shock-Absorbing and Rugged Phone Case with Holster and 20ft FlexShock Multi-Drop Protection, Black

This case is a solid five stars. Tech 21 has checked all the boxes. The case is top quality and fits iPhone 14 ProMax perfectly. It’s a fairly bulky case but seems like it would provide substantial drop protection. The silent switch and lightning port are covered with attached tabs that look like they won’t break off easily. The only thing exposed are the speakers, and there are speaker covers available on Amazon. I like the switches and ports to be covered but not the speakers because that usually changes the sound quality and sometimes causes weird vibrations. The lip around the screen provides adequate rise. The standout feature with this case is the sliding lens protector. It actually works great! It opens and closes quickly and easily. After putting the case on the iPhone, the first time I tried to slide the lens protector closed, it didn’t seem to want to move. I put my thumbnail along one of the grip ridges on the slider, gave it a nudge and it started working fine. It’s a nice feeling not to have the lenses exposed when the iPhone is in my pocket or purse. The edges of the case have enough of a grippy feel that the iPhone feels secure in my hand. Fingerprints are not visible anywhere on this case. The switches are so responsive they feel almost naked. The MagSafe ring is subtly visible, its appearance is low key. I plan to use this case daily for the next few months, at least, and I will update this review regarding how the sliding lens protector holds up. One thing to consider is that because of the lens protector the camera bump now covers the whole width of the phone. It adds bulk but, for me, it’s an acceptable trade off knowing the lenses are protected. The case comes with a solid, quality holster color coordinated to match the case. I don’t use a holster but I’m providing details for those who do. The clip is tight. It doesn’t seem like there’s any way the iPhone would accidentally fall out of the holster. In fact, it feels snug enough that you might have to work it in a bit to use it one-handed. When in the holster, the iPhone can be vertical, horizontal or at 90 degrees or 45 degrees between the two. You can use the holster as a stand for the iPhone in horizontal (landscape) orientation. I have a Spigen glass screen protector (available on Amazon) on the 14 ProMax and this case works fine with it. With some past Tech21 cases I found the holes around the silent switch and lightning port were too big in that they let dust in. That is NOT a problem with this case. 3rd update - I freaking drove over my iPhone with my Chevy pick up and my case has ZERO MARKS. My cheap screen protector from Marshall’s? Unscathed. I almost feel like I should be paid for this review because I’m not sure if there’s ANYONE out there who’s demolished as many iPhones as I have, using so many different cases over the last decade at least, I can’t even try to guess how many phones and cases and screen protectors I’ve turned into fragments or even fine dust, (Don’t raise your prices over this, Tech21). ****Yesterday I dropped my phone hard- flung it from running out of the drivers seat of my truck in a rush with my arms full, where my brand new iPhone 14 Pro was brutally catapulted against a concrete curb. I expected to see some screen protector damage, maybe my lenses, at least a marking on this case. I can’t believe my screen protector wasn’t hit. It’s a cheap one too. No markings on my case at all. Now that’s weird. Not one scuff. I underestimate this newer version. It exceeds my last one for my XR phone. I’m definitely only buying these cases. Worth the money.***** It isn’t as rubbery and droppable feeling- bezel around screen isn’t as deep- compared to my XR’s same case. However, the lenses cover works so much better on this, and my guess is this latest 14 pro is just a much tougher phone and so the cases don’t need to be as strong? But maybe this material is great- I haven’t thrown my phone yet, since I just got it, Tech 21 has definitely become my favorite brand for being a phone thrower.

This case broke within a month. This was my third (yes third) tech21 case and all three broke at the clip within a month of use. I bought one and it broke. I tried a second time thinking maybe it was a manufacturing defect but it broke in the exact same manner. I was gifted a third and it also broke at the clip in the exact same way. Also, the little tabs that help hold the phone in the holder broke off causing the phone to more easily slip out of the holder. It is important to note that this was all normal daily use and not anything rough or rugged. The case did seem to have good drop protection and the MagSafe magnet was quite strong, and I loved the sliding camera protector, but this does not offset the other quality issues. I have used other belt clip holders for older phones in the past and not a single one has ever broken. I will be going back to that product. I have filled out the warranty claim for one of the ones I bought. It was approved by their warranty department two weeks ago but still hasn't shipped. I do not hold out much hope for its quality when/if it arrives.

First off, packaging is minimalistic and everything is recyclable. The case has a tight fit ensuring utmost protection from dust and minute dirt from entering the sides. The lens cover is a nice feature because it protects the lenses from getting poked or punctured. It closes tight and will not slide open. It does have small gaps on one side though that allows dust to enter. This case come with an added layer of protection which comes in the form of a belt clip that can double as a stand as well. It can be turned around to cover the phone face as well. The downside to that is that it also adds additional weight and size to the phone. The magnet works great. It is a strong magnet. All in all, if you want a hefty protection for your phone, this is a very good case to get. You will not be disappointed.

This is a good product and like the camera lens cover option. I use the phone as the product picture shows to allow easy access to phone screen, however the one drawback is that when using the camera on the phone while in the holster, the clip blocks a portion of the picture area. I cut/sawed off the upper portion of the non-moving portion of the clip which helped, but the remaining portion of the clip still slightly blocks picture view unless it is zoomed in a couple settings. For product design, suggest a slightly smaller clip (or one that at least clears the camera lens picture view area to avoid partially blocked photos). If you use with the phone flipped opposite of picture, you will have to remove phone from holster to access full phone screen. Overall a good product as I can find no other product that lets me access screen and use camera while still in holster which I prefer....

*Note: Caveat Emptor - Tech21 has tried to deny warranty service due to yellowing and poor fit due to this listing being “not an anuthorized reseller” while clearly stated that Amazon is on their list. I have confirmed in my purchase, and their customer service, unfortunately, took their earliest opportunity to absolve themselves of that responsibility. Quote “ Please note - we offer a limited warranty on all cases and screen protector products, bought from tech21 Online or tech21’s authorised retailers and resellers worldwide. Unfortunately, tech21 products bought from unauthorised sources are not covered under this warranty. …” They have since rectified the issue and sent replacement; but honestly, why was that even needed? Original review: If you are looking for something that would survive a drop, there's a good chance you are looking at the right place. Tech21 has started out with D3O much earlier but since moving on and leaving the apple shelves they have cranked out bulkier products that are supposedly better for the drop at higher price. This case here has a slightly duller tone in person than in the picture, but it is every bit as bulky and sturdy as you see. I do want to take the chance and say there are some uneveness to the finish, and to be honest the top doesn't even sit flat with the phone which had prompted myself to consider returning it, only not for the hassle of needing to wait for a replacement. There is also some discoloration to the outer edge (a hint of slight yellowing) to the outer ppastic frame after 2 months of use, though seemingly isn't seemingly affecting how it does its job. Some fellow reviewers have correctly pointed out the camera protection ridge does interfere with some bigger magsafe charger, but fortunately the original Apple one has worked plenty fine with this. Overall, an ok option for the phone if you are fearful of an accidental drop

I was looking for a case, not OtterBox, that would work well with MagSafe. OtterBox has some that say they will, but the first iterations of them were not so great. I think the first iteration of this brand was not great either. But this one is spot on. I use it with a MagSafe wallet, and it works excellent. I’ve lost my MagSafe charger, and I’m not a big fan of it anyway, but I will begin using it again during pool season 2023. Not everyone likes to wear a holster or needs to, it’s their preference, my children often make front of me lol. But I do have a job where it is convenient to wear one at work. This holster is totally different than OtterBox, and that it is very easy to slide in and out. By easy I mean convenient. The way that the otter boxes snap, I never cared much for that. The color on this particular unit is almost like a translucent gray.

I really like this case. It protects well, it's not bulky at all. The magnet is really strong. Color is perfect on my gold. The little nubs on the side are great for a nonslip grip. You can put your phone in the holster either face in or face out. I'm glad I got it.
