How thick is mat? I can't tell what unit of measure is in picture. I know it's not 3" thick

Overall it’s about 3/16” thick. The edges are thinner than the part you walk on. It’s very low profile. However....allow me to say this mat off-gasses the smell of rubber constantly. We use ours outside the back door where it is in the sun a good chunk of the day. I’m sitting next to it now and can smell it. I thought having it sit in the sun all these months would tone down the smell. Not the case. So I would suggest not planing on using it inside.

Safe to use it around pool, out door, direct sunlight, is it UV resistant?

We use it outside by our Lake on the cement ramp by the the lake, which would make the cement very slick, when buying this it stopped the slipperyness all the time. So it sits out in the sun the entire summer. Not sure about UV resistant but we've had them for 4 years and they still look for them and work well

What is the diameter of the hokes?

though I don't have it near me at this time, I'm guessing about 1/2"
