I’m so pleased with this! I’d used a Brita filter for, well, forever, and I honestly was just really ignorant about different types of filters and what they even do. I moved up to New England a few years ago and the rental I’m in is in a very old building that absolutely hasn’t been updated in most ways. I started looking into things like old plumbing in structures like this and boy, what a rabbit hole that was. I decided it would be best to upgrade my water filter so it would help eliminate the oh-so-many things in these very old pipes, and decided on this one because it was within my budget and seemed very effective. I love that it’s a glass container instead of plastic. It’s a little smaller than my old one, but that’s no big deal. I’ve gotten in the habit of filling it up a little at a time while doing other things in the kitchen. Is it slower than my Brita? Yep. I’ve seen other reviews complaining about it. But I don’t mind at all. It’s a dual filtration system and that means yes, it takes a little longer. If anything, that just makes me feel even better about its efficacy. I’m someone who sips on ice water all day and my kitties have a large fountain that I fill using this as well, so it’s put to great use! And I know it likely sounds crazy, but the water tastes better. I’m sure some of it is psychological, which hey, fine lol. But it just tastes cleaner, crisp, and more like absolutely nothing. It’s wonderful. Highly recommend! Edit to add: The bigger filter is an absolute PAIN to remove when cleaning/maintaining the pitcher regularly (and replacing the filter itself once a year or so). This part specifically would definitely benefit from a redesign. But still, overall, I’m keeping my rating the same. Hope they reevaluate this one thing in future models.

Once you get the filters hydrated, it does a nice job filtering the water. It's not fast, but not slow either. I just keep filling it and pouring the filtered water into a jug. The taste is very good. Happy with my selection.

This water filter is fantastic! The water tastes so good (which is a big plus), and I’m no longer concerned about microplastics or chemicals. Plus, it’s easy to clean and use. However, I noticed it doesn’t hold a huge amount of water—you can’t fill it all the way to the top, at best halfway. So, you’ll need to refill it often or get the larger countertop version. It takes about 3-4 minutes for the entire water to filter into the pitcher. Also, if you buy the plastic pitcher, it tends to crack, so I highly recommend using the glass pitcher to avoid that. The plastic lid on top seems to be prone to cracking as well but only visible if pushed down, otherwise it’s not noticeable. But overall, the water quality is much better than many other brands I’ve tried so gave it a 4 star for the water quality.

I’ve been using the for a few weeks now, and overall, it’s a solid upgrade if you care about water quality and reducing plastic use. First, the filtration system is impressive. It goes beyond basic pitchers by removing not just chlorine and odors, but also heavy metals, microplastics, and even bacteria and parasites, which is rare for this type of product. The taste difference is noticeable right away, especially if your tap water has a strong smell or aftertaste. I also really appreciate the glass design. It feels much cleaner and safer compared to plastic pitchers, and it looks great on the counter. The silicone base is a nice touch for stability and protection. Now, let’s be honest about the downsides. The filtration process is slow. You’ll need some patience, especially if you’re used to faster pitchers. Maintenance is another thing to consider. The filters need regular replacement, and cleaning requires a bit more attention than simpler models. Overall, if your priority is cleaner, safer water and reducing exposure to contaminants, this pitcher is worth it. Just don’t expect speed or convenience to be its strongest features.

I almost did not get this because of some of the negative reviews about how slow it filters and how easy the insert or pitcher would break on you. It is slow in the beginning, but once the filters are primed and soaked it filters faster. Don't expect to filter water in like a minute or two to drink right away. Let it filter and do it's thing! I have a separate 2 gal ice tea glass container with a spigot that I empty the water into once it filters. The one thing I do is I don't push the filter insert all the way down as it is a bit hard to pull out. You need to sort of rock it back and forth while pulling on it to come out. Don't hold it with one hand over the counter or else it will pop out and you will hit the counter and break the glass! Sit on the rug or couch and slowly pull and rock it back and forth with both hands to pull it out. You may also want to try injecting some water around the rim to help loosen it up. Do not use a screw driver to pry it up! The glass container is quite large and I just have the insert sitting on the rim as I don't push it all the way down. That way it gives me a little extra room for the water to filter and fill up. Also I can pull it out easily and hold it while I empty the water into my 2 gal container without the water in the filter spilling out. Once I do that I just top off the water filter so it's going at full capacity. Every time I go to the kitchen I just keep topping off the water in the filter. I have a separate water pitcher in the fridge filled as well as my 2 gal glass container filled and the filtered water pitcher ready to empty. It's a good quality filter and glass pitcher. It's says it filters the microplastics which is one of the main reasons I got this brand. The main filter will last about a year and the good thing is that when it needs replacing it will just stop filtering water so you don't need to remember. Just have a replacement filter ready. The main filter replacement after a year did not seem too expensive for how long it lasts. I did see other brands that were cheaper, but I don't know about their quality and don't want to take a chance!

good quality, works great! My city had a water issue, used a different brand of filter pitcher but water was still bad & pets would not touch it.Got this pitcher, used it & the water was drinkable again, tasted fine, even my pets would drink it! Be aware, since it is glass it is heavy, but healthier than plastic.

I bought this pitcher in an effort to reduce the amount plastic in my kitchen. Its a beautiful pitcher but its awkward to handle thus I still use my Brita (with the newer filters that block microplastics). Pros: -its beautiful -its glass -the silicon base is nice and prevents sliding and slamming the glass on the counter or table -its LifeStraw, so filtering out a LOT of bad stuff Cons: -its very heavy bc of the glass -its ergonomically difficult to use: because of the shape, its bottom heavy when its empty and then with more water distributed to the bottom, heavier still. I don't think anyone who knows ergonomics consulted on the design: the handle is at the top but given the bottom-heavy nature of the pitcher makes it nearly impossible to pour unless its pretty full and you can tip it or you are using two hands and supporting the bottom with one of them - the handle should be lower so its easier to get leverage and pour, and the pour spout is also too small. -the spot where you add water is also awkward - it pivots from the water pressure, but if you don't align the water coming in properly, will splash. -its slow to fill -its VERY hard to pull out the filter section to clean the pitcher (its very tight and has a suction like seal) Bottom line, if you want a beautiful glass pitcher that filters out a lot of bad stuff and are happy to ignore the ergonomic issues, then I would recommend it. I would not recommend this pitcher for someone who is elderly or for children - I guarantee there will be lots of messes. I have a hard time and I'm a fit Gen-Xer. I don't think I'll use it as often as I'd originally planned - it certainly won't replace my Brita, which was the point of the purchase.

This LifeStraw 7 cup pitcher is super streamlined and attractive! The water tastes cleaner! But it does have several design quirks that I hope will be fixed in future models. This is just so nice looking and feels much higher quality than the competition - we have mostly used Brita pitchers in the past and this feels much nicer in terms of materials. I was looking for a glass pitcher without any plastic, and could not find something that was completely plastic free, but at least the body of this one is glass, with a silicone outer (removable) base. The double filter is pretty cool and they say it removes microplastics plus lead and bacteria, which I have not seen in other filters! Nice. I was really excited about that and I can actually taste a pretty noticeable difference in the taste of this water vs a Brita lead reducing filter pitcher. The main downfall of this lovely pitcher is how unbelievably slow the filter is...the first use and then following 3-4 uses were painfully slow, it took literally all day to filter one batch (the first batch) of water (not a whole pitcher full, just one small reservoir full). I was shocked. This speed has improved, but is still really slow compared to the Brita. Like really slow. Another design flaw is the location of the handle - I love that it is glass, but the handle is up really high on the body of the pitcher and when you have this half full or more, the handle is hard to hold and the pitcher is hard to tilt because of the weight. Speaking of which, the weight of this pitcher will be a major challenge for some because of the glass--when it is full, it weighs over 8 lbs. The last thing to know / not great feature is that the reservoir that you fill to filter the water is so small (I totally understand why, design-wise, it could not really be any bigger) that you have to fill it up SO, so many times to get a full pitcher. My goal in buying this was to have one pitcher to use for the day for myself so I would know how much water I am drinking in a day and then fill it up at night. Well I don't have that much time on my hands at night to refill the reservoir so many times, since it also takes so long to filter. I'm including a picture of the pitcher when it is pretty full and with this amount of water, the entire thing weighs 7 lbs 9 oz. Another picture to show the size difference. Overall I am still happy with this purchase! Just wish the filter were faster and reservoir were larger.

Super happy with this water filter jug, it is a bit slow to filter but would rather that to have better quality water. Beautiful taste, soft and clean, zero normal tap water taste. Glass is the only way to go, only wish the filters weren't so expensive but again the water quality is top notch -I will REALLY know this after getting the water analyzed in a week time but am very happy so far). If it does actually remove micro plastics will be the big one for me (as it claims).

Very pleased with this double filter system that removes microplastics in addition to harmful chemicals and microbes. Nice tasting water too! A good option for those who don’t want or don’t have space for an under sink RO filter system.

It’s a great water filter pitcher. I can’t verify the claims it makes about what it removes but I trust what they say. The water tastes great! As people said, it is initially slow to filter but increases speed as time passes. Ultimately it is just as fast (or slow) as a Brita, but with better filtration. Just top it up every time you pass! Love that it’s glass although that makes it heavier to lift.

Pitcher with filter is very good. It doesn't take that long to filter the water like the other reviews say. I would estimate it filters all the water you add within 5 minutes for sure but I haven't timed it. Maybe the pre-filter reservoir is on the small side so you do have to add water a number of times before the pitcher is actually full. Its perfectly fine for a couple of people. Maybe a different story if you are using this one pitcher for an entire family. Also huge plus is that it is the only glass filter I could find that actually filters PFAs and PFOAs which are major contaminants in almost every single water system in the world. Edit: I have timed the fill rate of the pitcher. It takes approximately 37 minutes to fill from empty to full, if you fill as soon as the filter resivoir is able to take more water. It filters 77ml per minute on average and the first 500ml you add is filtered in 4 minutes and 54 seconds. I had to add water to the resivoir 11 times to get it to fill to the top. The filter water resevoir holds a maximum of 500ml of water and the pitcher will hold 1880ml of water (after the filter) in total. I fill it up while I am cooking dinner or cleaning the kitchen since I am already near it.
