Subtle smell, lasts long
It has a light, fragrant smell; I prefer a lotion to a perfume-type spray. The scent is subtle, and it lingers. It smells clean, not overwhelming, but very nice. I put this lotion on about 6 hours ago; the smell is still present, but not in a strong, overpowering way. I enjoy it.

Exquisite Yet Classy Fragrance
After purchasing cosmetics from a beauty supply store, I received a sample packet of this "Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia Body & Hand Lotion." I tried it weeks later and FELL IN LOVE!!! I went searching for this classically fragrant, long-lasting hand cream at all the local department stores and discovered that NO ONE CARRIES THIS FRAGRANCE near me (Southaven, MS)! So, magical Amazon to the rescue!! :) I had been in search of a fragrance that is not overpowering, or too flowery, or doesn't keep my hands soft long enough, or that won't be "smellable" after leaving the house. This one works! And, its fragrance is just soft enough to linger without smelling too strong. Perfect combination of scents!!

Grapefruit is nice until it changes
Keep in mind that perfumes mix with body chemistry and the scent is different on each person. What is wonderful on one person may not be wonderful on another person. It has to be tried on the skin to know for sure. That being said, I will give this product a good rating for the basic lotion that carries the scent. I really liked the grapefruit fragrance, until that disappeared and what remained was the spicy undertones. The scent lasted the whole day. So, if it is something that you would like you will be pleased with that. I read one ladies review, who said it smells like an old woman's perfume. My experience was that it reminded me of a man's cologne or aftershave. This would be a great gift for a man. Just not something I want to wear.
