Wood is not the same as advertised.
I received today and the wood handle is not white oak as pictured on Amazon. The description does say hard wood but I was expecting white oak as pictured. The metal also appears like it was poured in a sand form and not even buffed out. I haven't used yet, but I predict it will not last more than a season with my rocky terrain.

Cheap brittle wood.
Handle broke just putting the head onto one of them. Not sure what kind of wood they use but itโs for sure the cheapest wood they could find in china. Other than that the other one seems ok for now.

These are much cheaper than competitors so I expected some imperfections. I'm fairly satisfied with them, however I did have to use a silicone adhesive to glue the mattock onto the handles as the handles were not wide enough to wedge into the mattock the traditional way. They're putting up with the abuse I give them fine so I'm not worried.
