Excellent Hue addition
These are great. The light surface being flush with the ceiling provides a much brighter experience vs having the bulbs in the cans. These come with TP24 connectors, with basic electrical knowledge you can easily install with connectors or strip the wire and use wire nuts. Exceptional, stable fit for the right size opening. Definitely worth the extra money.

Brightened and Modernized the Basement
I replaced three of the boob lights in our basement to get it out of the 90s. They had small junction box fixtures so 90% of the effort in installing these were from that. If you are installing in a new location without an existing hole, install is an absolute breeze. The Good:--Rock solid Hue connectivity and quality.--These things will fit almost anywhere.--The appearance is quite nice and the diffuser is excellent! It looks and feels like a Kindle surface. The light quality is tremendous. The Cromulent:--I really don't like that these came with permanent splices. I know, "Why would you ever need to move them??" Well, given the cost and ease of install, I plan to take all of the smart home stuff if we ever move. There are several code-approved ways to connect wires. This is the worst. That's a personal preference, so I'm not going to take any stars off.--The actual issue with the splices were the fact that they weren't super easy to work with due to the uh... creative wiring choices the previous owner and/or builder made with wiring the basement. The wires were significantly larger than even 12-gauge wiring. Had to buy a separate junction box to make the splices to the large-gauge wire. If you have normal light circuit wiring, no problem. The Bad:--The lip on the light is extremely narrow. Really bad design. You have to get the hole cut within like a quarter inch. Easy with a hole saw, but not so much if you have an existing hole preventing you from using a hole saw.--The other issue that I think actually was enough to knock off a star was the included junction box. The door on it would NOT stay closed. Disappointed given the cost.Edit: I noticed some reviews mentioned connectivity being an issue, especially without the bridge. I went back and looked and I haven't lost connectivity with the bridge once with these lights since installing 3 or 4 months ago. I think having the bridge is a worthwhile cost if you have more than a couple lights. The benefits are immense. You can also look at connecting the bulbs directly to a zigbee hub like Home Assistant with a zigbee dongle. These are among the most reliable devices in my house in terms of connectivity.

The price for quality.
I work from home, and to make my office 'feel' differently when I am there working or in my free time, I decided to play around with color-changing bulbs a few years ago. Depending on why I was there, they seemed to give my office the ambiance I was looking for. Sadly, the bulbs that I used before relied on an internet connection to work, and too many times, behaved not as expected. So, when I moved the office to another room in the house, I decided to go all in and find a set of (6) ceiling lights. There are definitely other options available that are much cheaper than the Philips Hue lights. Some of them are not at all bad and may be a better choice for a lot of people.I ended up paying an arm and a leg compared to others for the Hue system because of the reliability of Wi-Fi in our area. I had experienced one too many times that my previous set of lower-end bulbs simply could not connect, or I had to re-add them to my setup again. When combined with the hub, these lights allow me to set them up once and no longer depend on my internet connection. I can also turn all the lights on and off or cycle through mood settings by using the smart switch/remote (hub and switch sold separately). So, now they work as a standard set of lights without having to get my phone out every time. The quality of the lights, both the light itself and the build quality, is fantastic. To be fair, it should be for the price you pay. The app is, I think, one of the most user-friendly apps in this space. It still can be complex for some, but it will be much easier than most other apps.As others have mentioned, the Hue lights, together with the hub and the light switch, are very dependable and work nicely. Like many other things, if you are looking for lights that you will enjoy for many, many years and want them to work flawlessly and without any fuss once they are set up, it might be worth considering these.Yes, they are expensive, but ask yourself if it is worth the extra money to turn your room into something extraordinary.

Amazing!! Really big fan of Philips Hue products
These have been great! They are expensive but if you want to add flush ceiling lights without getting into cans, and you want the ability to have bright, multi-colored lights, that can be controlled by an app on your phone, then there is nothing better. Plus, they were easy to install. We use Hue lights throughout our house. We use the bulbs in fixtures, as accent lighting behind TVs and other furniture. Now we have these flush ceiling lights in our kitchen. Definitely modernized the look of our kitchen. Also added the Hue switch, so people can control the lights from a wall switch without having to use their phone. Really can’t say enough good things about them. Would give it 10 stars if I could.

Top quality
Everything is quality about these lights. Installation, and especially programming (a breeze) and ease of use.I also purchased from a different company here on Amazon. That set was upstairs (returned and exchanged with Philips), Philips downstairs. The other company is absolutely no comparison to Philips. While they work, unless you use smart lights only for rarely used rooms, it is an absolute pain to use any other company than Philips.1. Philips is a breeze to program. With the other company you need to program every single command. I.e. turn lights to 30%, turn lights to 50%, etc. You also need to program individual steps like, turn hall lights on, turn hall lights off, and any other command you may want your lights to do.Also the programming was not straight forward. It took quite some time to figure out and make it work. With Philips you hook up Siri in no time (need a hub!-definitely worth it) and you just ask Siri to turn lights on or off, or to any percentage without having to program it.2. Philips comes with 113 pre-made light scenes to choose from. A huge time saver, and options I could have never come up with. Very beautiful and pretty much anything you can think of for any occasion and events. Very classy! The other one offers maybe three scenes. And very basic. You have to program anything else.3. Philips comes with a separately purchasable remote control (definitely worth it plus VERY stylish and no screws or wiring needed) that can save numerous of your favorite light scenes so you, your kids, partner, guests don’t need to download the app to turn on, off or dim lights.4. The Philips app itself is so much more use friendly than the app from the other company.5. Note: you don’t need the remote or hub but it does bring out all the options the Philips lights have to offer.General note: with any smart lights, the light switch has to remain on at all times for smart lights to function and can only be controlled via an app or voice control (or remote). If you have a family or often guests, it really is a pain for them to turn lights on and off without a remote. Something to consider.

Another Great Hue Product
Hue products are expensive, arguably too expensive even. But they are a premium product and are built as such. Plus I believe the high price pays for continued software development since there is, thankfully, no subscription fees associated with this ecosystem. That said, these are great. They fade in and out just like all other Hue lights and the brightness and color saturation is top notch. I installed 8 of these in my living/dining room and when combined with the iLightShow app we have our own dance club! Plus they work really well as regular lighting. ;-)These are like any other "puck style" recessed lights as far as installation - there's the light and a little metal box that goes in the attic. So if you've installed any of those, you can handle this. They don't include any strain relief or other protective device for the Romex going into the box, so those will be needed for proper installation. Another installation quibble, and the reason for my deduction of one star, is that the power cable between the puck and the box is too short. On all of the ones I installed it BARELY reached from the cutout to the ceiling joist where the box was mounted. All the other puck lights I've installed had much longer cables, relatively speaking, and this made things much easier while in the attic. Hopefully on a future revision they lengthen those a bit and then they'll have a true 5-star product. But overall I'm very happy with these lights and would happily pay the premium for them again when the need arises. We have two more room remodels on our list and these will likely find a home there too.

Another solid Philips Hue product
We purchased these to replace standard wafer LED lights in our theater room. They were easy to swap out with basic electrical knowledge and popped in very easily. They integrate with our existing HUE system and give us great control over the room’s atmosphere. I wish they offered a black bezel.

Clean and efficient Philips Hue solution
I am a Phillips Hue guy for sure, I have like 40 of their bulbs throughout the house, the full color variety, and have been using them for years without any issues. When I moved into this house, a few of the fixtures were LED panels and not bulbs, so it kind of threw me a curve at first. The only difficult part of this installation was that my existing holes in the ceiling were only three or four inches wide, so I had to get past the fear of cutting into my ceiling to make a 6 inch hole :-)Beyond that, it was a cinch, this light has a Nifty little connection box that is really as physically plug and play As It Gets.I was surprised at the brightness, because these are a bit brighter than you would expect Lumen wise compared to their rating versus other Hue bulbs, but I sure ain't complaining. These are the slim fit cans, so they don't require much space above the ceiling, but do make sure you make the hole clean so that it fits nicely without any unnecessary movement or visible gaps, because this thing has little brackets that grab on to the rim of the ceiling opening, like a drowning dude trying to climb to the top of a Alaskan fishing hole he's been thrown into because he witnessed a murder. And the main thing is that you have the Philips Hue quality, it's worth spending a few extra bucks to have the thing that everybody else tries to copy. You'll be happy you did in the long run like any investment.Oak Creek System broke up pooping Devastation and destruction.I'm leaving that last sentence just because it's funny, that was Google listening to the TV and misinterpreting what it heard LOL.
