Stiffness helps
I've been rolling sushi for over 25 years and have always used the bamboo mats. This is stiffer and the added support helps distribute my firm grip over the entire roll. I'm guessing it will help people with small hands to wrap more efficiently. They clean up quickly and don't get water logged like the bamboo mats.

Takes practice but works!
Got this for a fun dinner and loved it!Definitely takes some practice but overall a great product and great price!The hardest part is cutting the sushi after rolling it because there are not knife slots in the plastic mats.Overall: would buy again
