I got this workbook for my child and it has been really helpful for practicing reading at home. The stories are interesting enough to keep my child engaged, and the questions help with understanding the main idea, story details, and what the author is trying to say. We usually do a few pages at a time after school, and it has become a nice part of our routine. I like that it gives extra practice without making it feel like too much work. Overall, a great workbook for 2nd grade reading practice.

This book is such a good tool to use for reading. I tutor kids with reading problems! It covers all aspects of reading. It has a story and then ask questions about the story. It covers comprehension, plot and other reading strategies. It’s a great book. I bout several reading levels. Easy transition from one grade to the next. It’s also a great tool for practice!

We homeschool and I love the spectrum sets. I did first grade last year and they seemed to cover most of the bases. I have purchased a few for second grade this year and look forward to using them. Books are sturdy. They held up for the whole year. They were easy to read and understand. My daughter actually enjoyed them. I highly recommend if you're looking for supplemental materials or super simple curriculum for basic homeschool

I use this workbook for my 2nd grade small group instruction. Each passage has a specific skill it focuses on. The passage could be fiction or nonfiction. I can complete a passage and skill questions within my short amount of time. There are such a great mix of topics. One of my favorite parts is each skill has an ID that can be put into IXL.com. If a student continues to struggle after our time in up, they can use their Chromebook to head directly to the IXL skill that matches. This workbook is simple to use, kid-friendly, and fits right into my small-group routines. Great resource for 2nd grade teachers, parents/guardians, or homeschoolers looking for reading skills to practice.

This 2nd Grade Reading Book is thick and full of reading stories, text and assessments. Each reading excerpt comes with questions to ensure the child is learning to remember key parts after their reading. It's such a wonderful workbook. It's most likely an estimate of almost 100 readings in this one book. It's definitely able to help my child achieve a 2nd grade level in Reading. It is durable, high quality, and very well written. Spectrum workbooks are some of my favorite teaching resources.

Very impressed, my daughter is ADHD and autistic and she understood the assignments and concepts easily. Cannot say enough about this company! Will be using these as she goes through her grades!

Teacher home schooling her kiddo here. I do love the smaller reading passages and comprehension questions that go with the stories. The variety is also nice.

My 8yo loved the reading the cite-passages and answering the accompanying questions. It stimulated thought, reading comprehension, and writing.
