For a small book, I found this one to be expensive. Given itsglossy papers and colour illustrations, the price is justified.The story is of a greedy crocodile that wanted to eat up children.His plan is foiled by other animals. They warned the childrenbefore the horrible animal managed gobble them up.At last Trunky the elephant swung the crocodile fast and thenthrew him in the sky. The crocodile hit the sun and was sizzledup in the sun's heat.The writer's language is excellent. He writes in natural Englishidiom that is rare to find in American and Indian books writtenfor children. All children should read as much of Roald Dahlas they can. I envy my son for he would be reading Dahl atan early age.I must say, however, that this book is for children above five orfor children who can read on their own. My son is just four. I bought thebook but the story is rather long for him to stay interested in it. The storyis text heavy and pictures are small.

The media could not be loaded. I have been a fan of Roald Dahl's books. And this one is my kid's favourite too. But I feel price is little high for the book. Book quality is good. Pages are glossy and pictures are bright.

It's a fantastic book telling us that greed is bad

Oh my! What a suspense builder this is! Amusing story of a mean, hungry crocodile who dreams of eating children! Each page talks about how the wily crocodile plots to get his meal and how all the other animals support the children. And of course, children win and the crocodile is swing around and thrown up in to the air like a rocket by an elephant. Complete fantasy, good vocabulary and leaves kids with a smile at the end! Recommended for 5 -7 crowd.

This is one of Dahl's most delightful books for 6-7-8 year old children.I've been reading it with with groups for the past 10 years and this books is timeless in its appeal to children. A lovely book to read aloud with a group or individually. Children will take great pleasure in reading and re-reading this little adventure where a wicked croc is plotting and planning to make a meal of children and the animal world comes to their rescue. Ofcourse, the kids are saved and the croc meets a sizzling end when he is flung into space!! So age-appropriate. Ample scope to work on adjectives,contractions,proper and common nouns if used as a literature unit in school or at home.

Roald Dhal is a fantastic autor. Adult and children both can enjoy reading his books. This one is a small story probably for beginners, my 7yr old finished it in an hour.Good read for 5-6yr olds
