Unit is of very good quality and works as advertised, and a great price point!
UPDATE: I had to upgrade my review to 5 stars, this unit is really great, I can always downgrade if I run into any reliability issues in the future but I want to be completely fair, this product rocks and made life easy for me on the job I used it for. Absolutely no complaints, at this point I would buy this again if given the chance for a do over. I wanted to try one of these to help expedite the targeting of the installation of chair railing in a 12 x 22 foot office and thought I would try this particular 360 degree self leveling unit. It has very good visibility indoors and works really well. It is simple to use and get familiar with and I'm sure I will find many more uses for it in the future. I'm unable to speak to the long term reliability as I have only had it a little while so if I experience any issues I update this review. The case holds everything neatly including a place for an extra set of batteries. If I was to be picky I think that the case could have a bit more padding and a handle on one end would be a useful addition to the case itself but again not in any way a deal breaker, in fact the extra room allows me to store my laser measuring unit with it keeping them both tucked away and a little protected and best of all I can keep them together which is a benefit to me when I need to reach for them I know that which ever one I need will be ready for me in this one compact case. I'm a DIYer so it won't get a lot if regular use but if you're in need of one I would recommend this product, despite being a DIYer my time is limited and important to me so having this unit has been a huge time saver and I appreciate that. I can't imagine how the more expensive (some 4 to 5 times more expensive) units from some of the better known name brands could be much better, for now I think for the DIYer they would be a huge waste of money, this product seems to work great and at a much more reasonable price. I'm thankful Huepar is offering this at a much more attainable price point! I suppose one could get into a nitty-gritting discussion about it's overall brightness or how fine a line it produces and some random distance but I can assure those who are wondering - this unit works great and did not cause me any concern the lines were bright and clear and very distinct. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to friends and relatives if they were in the market for such an item.

Great value, well built, easy to use and bright laser
My first laser level! I picked this up (along with it's partner the LR-6RG laser detector) to help with installing a rainwater harvesting system. I got the basic one because I didn't need three planes, this simple one (one plane and one vertical) was all I needed. I needed to make sure a second set of tanks were at the right level as the first set. The tanks will be about 25 yards apart so a traditional level would not work. The photos show the overall setup and the laser target board I put in as a reference near the pad for the second set of tanks. The detector worked great in daylight but when the target board was not in direct sun I was still (barely) able to see the laser without the detector. Good brightness! You don't really need a white target board but in this case I was able to see the laser directly which was helpful because I hadn't used a laser level before. I have already used the laser level for another simpler project inside. The laser level has a lot of advantages for many projects compared to a traditional level.

Green laser at reasonable price with capability to handle a variety of jobs
Pros: Green Laser-significantly easier to see under many conditions Cross beam and 360 degree all in one at reasonable price Fantastic indoors Appears solidly built Compact design Laser detector card can be beneficial Nice mount included Cons: Weaker performance outdoors but many models suffer degradation Green lasers usually drain batteries quicker Faint "ghost" parallel vertical laser line The single button for all operation modes and features can be confusing at times I am impressed with the 901CG at this point. I have put it through several real world situations and I find that it performs quite well as long as you are not comparing it to models costing 2X-4X the price. It is fantastic indoors even in brightly lit rooms but it is limited outdoors. Indoors all surfaces and surface colors show acceptably bright precise laser beams. Less reflective colors or surfaces mute the laser brightness to some extent and eventually so does distance. If I have situations with large rooms and dark or less reflective colors or surfaces then keeping lighting to a minimum will easily get the job done. I also own the 9211G and this model is considerably brighter under all conditions. Using it outdoors will generally require some give and take. Again lighter surfaces work much better. Good luck in full direct sunlight. On an overcast day I find 10-15 feet is max on a darker surface and that requires getting up close to see the beam if your project will allow. If your activity can utilize this then I would suggest using the provided laser detector card and angling it slightly to the beams which will significantly increase the visibility. If it is that critical using a $130 laser then get an electronic laser line/level receiver or detector(Laserometer) to help and then use the Outdoor Pulse Mode function. Couple of suggestions-keep pendulum locked during transport and consider upgrading to a decent set of rechargeable batteries.

Easy setup and good options
This level is nice and easy to use with grouting or leveling. I used it in many parts of my recent home remodel and it saved me for those long spans. I have one problem with it though, I can't slip it from the unlocked self-leveling position to the locked position without moving the unit therefore knocking it out of level. I've learned to leave it unlocked and sometimes have to wait for it to stop shaking after walking near it or bumping it but that turned out to be no big deal.

Compared to Dewalt, Bosch & PLS
I've heard recommendations for all types of lasers and have experienced using many different brands. All of my coworkers use lasers daily as well so I was able to check out the performance and accuracy of each. A few of the guys have the cheaper Bosch level. I like the little dial that it has for making minor adjusts when plumbing. The beam didnt project well below the base of the unit if set up on top of something. I found it difficult to see the lines. This was the cheapest of them all and usually in stock at a popular home improvement store. The PLS units my coworkers used were a mix of the high end models with points and right angles and basic 180s. The PLS had a bright beam and was easy to read. The only downfall is that a few of the guys had damaged units. They seem to break easily. Especially the self leveling of it. Some of their units would wobble forever. Good laser, but they are expensive. The dewalt seemed to have a nice bright green beam. Price wasn't terrible at just under a couple hundred, but pricier than the cheaper Bosch units. It projected a beam below the base just fine. The buttons were simple and easy to use. It did not have a pendulum lock. Now finally the Huepar 901CG. I purchased this on Amazon day and bought it for about 30% less than what its listed for now. The beam is decently bright, but sometimes hard to see. It projects 360 horizontally, but you can see where the bars that hold the cover block the laser. Its has a lock to help protect the pendulum from getting knocked around when not in use. The unit needs to be locked to turn it off. It has 1 button to cycle through all the functions. Sometimes it is not ideal to use. Accuracy compared to all previously discussed lasers was exactly the same from measurements 20ft and less. I never had to use it for more than that. All the laser levels claim accuracy of about 1/8" up to 30ft. I believe this is probably true.

A great tool you will love using without totally breaking the bank.
After reading some other reviews, I wasn’t too sure about getting this model, but figured it couldn’t be that bad. It wasn’t. It was GREAT! The battery cover felt a little flimsy, but it closed up fine, and the lock/unlock control has a hard actuation to it, but the performance and results are great! I was dreading doing the project pictured in the review until I found out that this technology exists. After reading a lot of different reviews on other products, and getting sticker shock I decided on this model. It performed very well. So we’ll my wife commented that I didn’t swear once during the process (which is a big deal for me). As you can see the project was to layout the positions of multiple flag cases in multiple rows. This was so the right tool for the job and glad I got it. Beam intensity was good. It did drop off about 10 feet down the dark blue wall but it was still visible and usable. It was also rock solid on its accuracy. I had the unit on the left side of my project space to layout the four points on the left and while it was positioned there I marked horizontal reference points on the right side of my project space over 10 feet away. I then repositioned the unit to the right side of the project space, and aligned the unit to the previously scribed reference marks. When I verified if the beam aligned with the previously completed left side marks it did EXACTLY! You will love this tool!

Good laser. Does what you need. No more. No less.
Probably would give 4 and a half if I could. I don’t post reviews often. This laser seems to work well and is a decent price. Basically it’s a medium use/homeowner laser. Case is ok but seems kinda cheap. No handle and thin without much padding if any. Does have a pulse mode but that is for a laser detector. It does NOT mean that it pulses around in a circle. Only steady. Basically a low and high brightness beam. It does have room for battery storage in the case so I take my batteries out each time to prevent parasitic battery drainage. Nice feature for shutoff is is makes you switched to locked before you can turn it off which you should do before storing the laser. Overall it is pretty bright and seems great. With horizontal and vertical lines it should do most any job around the home I can think of.laser seems well built and durable and tripod mount seems minimal but well built so I’m happy. So buy this laser if you’re a homeowner and enjoy remodels.

Ok for the Price
Cannot trust the self leveling. The laser is fine for indoor use but I have been locking the laser in place and adjusting the tripod in lieu of using the self leveling. The laser will be solid indicating the self leveling is working within specs but when measured it is always off by a few degrees.
