Had an older cable and Windows told me the chip was out of date so I bought this one. It worked perfectly.

okay but could be better.
Initially, it worked...but when I physically moved the cable (while all connectors were in place) -- suddenly, is stopped communicating. Wiggled a bit more, working again.

Dead. USB didn't even see it
USB port did not see it when I plugged it in. DOA. Should have recognized it as a peripheral and asked for a driver at least, nothing... Tried on two laptops.
