I purchase several things on Amazon and was giving pretty in-depth reviews. From this point on, here's the new agenda…. if it works as advertised, is well made, meets or exceeds the description, is a value, and arrives in a fair amount of time, it will get a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are. If it doesn't meet these criteria, then I will most definitely and descriptively tell the short comings of the products and you as a consumer will not have to go through the trouble of buying the product without some background knowledge. If the sell pulls that item and relists under another description, I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page. Sellers have done this a couple of times in the past, and I was true to my word then as well as now. DR

Perfect replacement Roku remote. My remote just up and disappeared. I suspect that the new puppy ate it and that’s why “no one” know where it went. Remote work as soon as I put the batteries in. No issues what so ever.

One of my older Roku remotes suddenly stopped working a few nights ago. I was annoyed because I was trying to purchase a streaming video for my young daughter. It was nap time and we both were tired and fussy. I somehow managed to buy the video but couldn’t play it because certain Roku remote buttons died a sudden death. Then I remembered there are certain universal remote type apps one can get on their smart phones or iPads. Aha! I quickly found a free Roku remote app and was able to use it instantly. I still needed a Roku remote but I didn’t know which one and I didn’t want to spend a lot of money either (especially since I could use the Roku remote app I found for free!) I found my Roku’s model number by looking under the Roku unit. It was one listed for this remote. I bought this for about $6 and just popped two AAA batteries in it. It worked instantly. Done. Yay!

I purchased it to replace the Roku Express remote I had just received the day before. Unfortunately when you press a button you never know what it is going to affect. ... Well, perhaps I was a bit hasty in my initial comment, as with a day or two the replacement began working properly. I guess it may be that, as a non-OEM replacement it took a while to "acclimate" to normal usage. So though I started out at a one star review, I must raise it to four stars. It really is a handy replacement.

This is my second time buying this replacement remote. My kids tend to carry remotes around the house and lose them so it’s been helpful to find an inexpensive replacement. The remote worked immediately when I put batteries in it and has a good weight to it, it doesn’t feel like a cheap replacement remote that will break easily. We are very happy to be able to use a remote and not have the kids taking our phones to switch shows!

Bought several. A cheap replacement. Wears in (wears out?) quickly. The right arrow button grows unresponsive. It is terribly frustrating to have an important button give out. Makes out cry out. But there is a way Fonzie would handle this. You must finesse it for continued operation. I finally figured out the need to use my thumb nail/tip to push the "right arrow" button. One need not dig at it. It's tactile sound off in response to pushing the button happens long before it make a good electrical contact. Using the pad of my thumb is too gentle.

After reading through a few of the 22% (!!!) 1-star reviews for this product, I really didn't have any confidence that it would actually work with my Roku Premiere. But the price comparison ($5.99 + free one-day delivery versus $14.99 + $5.99 shipping to get the real deal from Roku) made me decide to take the risk. I was truly astounded when I took the batteries out of my old dog-chewed remote, slipped them into the new remote, pointed it at the Roku, pressed the OK button, and IT WORKED! And it continued to work PERFECTLY for the rest of the evening. Of course, that's one evening. We'll see how long it lasts (the body IS inferior to the real Roku remote - that probably applies to the electronic components as well). But if it fails, I'll update my review. So if there isn't anything more listed here, you can assume that it's still going strong!

We purchased this remote for our 2017 Roku express. 1. It’s not an original Roku remote control, but it does the job... half-heartedly. First off, the edges aren’t rounded out and smooth. The remote is lighter, and feels like a cheap kid’s toy remote in your hand in comparison to the original Roku remote. That’s kind of annoying but that’s not why we gave it 3 stars. 2. We give it 3 stars because it’s performance is subpar. It definitely doesn’t have the same range as the original remote. Where we could use the original from our lap, we have to hold the remote at level range with the Roku in order for it to work. Look at us, complaining about having to lift our arms to watch TV. For what it’s worth though, we comment on that as well. In summary, it’s not as good and doesn’t perform or feel as well in the hand as the original Roku remote. Is that a reason to pay 20 bucks for a replacement remote from Roku over 6 bucks for this one? Well that depends on the consumer. A cheap replacement was important to us. But if you are going to replace a remote for 20 bucks, you might as well replace the entire Roku Express at that point. Hopefully this comment is helpful. I know it would have been for me when I was looking for this replacement!

My husband claims the remote got lost in the depths of our couch during our move 🤷🏻‍♀️ I assumed all would be fine since we can use the Roku from our phones, right? Wrong. Couldn’t hook it up to the new internet without the remote. Considered purchasing a whole new Roku since after browsing, the cost of remote replacements was half as expensive as the Roku itself and I didn’t want to waste money buying a remote that didn’t even work. Lived off of Netflix on the Xbox for a few months but got too annoyed with that and decided to take a chance with this cheaper remote. Browsed and did not quite see our model number on the list but some very similar. Arrived today and this works for us. Yay! Happy with my $12 gamble. Haha

It is very cheaply made. It's really light compared to our other 2 Roku remotes. The buttons do not work well and the battery door is always falling off.

We somehow misplaced our remote for our Roku Express. Ordered this remote and it works fine as a replacement. Negative reviews seem to be from people with the wrong type of Roku system.
