The bottles are still in their respective packages and have never been used. How do I return this product?

You have to contact Amazon cust. serv. and they will email you a return label which you have to print and use the free ship. label on your package.

How much water should this be dispensing? It seems like I have to hit it so much to get a drop

Be sure to follow the manufacturer's directions for filling the water bottle. If not some bottles will drip and in others may not dispense anything at all. The principle of vacuum is at work in both instances. Always be sure to roll your finger across the ball to see that water comes out.

So how do you clean the inside of the glass container since the opening is so small?

I rinse it out with hot water half the time, otherwise I use a dab of dish soap with toothbrush to scrub the inside. I haven't done the dishwasher, although I guess that's fine. Just rinse it out extra well.
