Easy to install and fit will in my Crane toilet. Solved the issue we had with an old leaky flush valve. I did have to trim down the height of the overflow tube by about 3 inches, so just be aware of that if the tank of your toilet is not super tall. Make sure you have a wrench that opens to at least 2.5 inches wide so you can install and properly tighten the nut at the base of the tank as this kit does not provide a tool to assist with that.

This repair kit comes with everything you will need to replace the flush valve in your toilet tank. After reading some of the reviews I saw that I may need to cut about an inch or so off the top of the tube for it being a bit too tall once the tank lid is put back on, and this turned out to be the case, so I used a fine-toothed little band saw and took about twenty or so seconds to cut it down a bit. The kit comes with everything you see in the photos, plus all of the tank hardware. I reused the original bolts and nuts already on mine, as well as the flush valve lock ring, so I even had some pieces left over- just in case. Great price, good instructions, this is the best repair kit to purchase if you’re needing to replace your flush valve. Zero leaks, built with sturdy, heavy duty plastic, good, sound rubber gaskets, fits perfectly. Original design, consider it an OE replacement. Buy it! This was an unsolicited and honest review.

Worked fine (knock wood), no leaks and everything fit my decades-old toilet. I saw one person complain that a problem with the float valve caused a leak and damage; this kit does not include the float valve, so I do not know what that person was talking about. Another person complained about there only being two bolts; yes, that is how many you need. The entire process took me 1.5 hours, including cleaning and having to remove the old, corroded parts. One place in the instructions did not make sense, as it seemed to indicate putting a nut on over a bolt before that bolt goes through a hole. The diagram was more clear. They should also mention that the tank will be wobbly sitting on the gasket to the bowl portion before the nuts to either side get their final crankdown. Sure hope that it lasts, but I am purchasing one for an idential toilet.

The good. The bolts that attach the tank to the bowl are 5/16 inch and are bigger than the previous bolts on the tank. This helps center the washers and the flush valve gasket. All nuts and washers appear to be stainless steel so they shouldn't rust. The gaskets appear to be good quality. The bad. The instructions show use of 4 nuts, 4 rubber, and 6 stainless washers. There were actually 6 rubber washers included. I believe the instructions are wrong and not that there is a packing mistake of including 2 extra rubber washers. The instructions show there is not a rubber washer used on the underside of the tank but only a metal washer and nut. This would make it more likely that the tank could be cracked if the nut was over tightened. I put a rubber washer before the metal washer and nut. The ugly. One of the stainless steel nuts was defective and would not screw onto the included brass toilet bolt. There should be better quality control to ensure the nuts work. Also for some reason 2 of the 4 stainless nuts were jam nuts. There is no reason they need to be jam nuts. There is plenty of room for a full nut instead of a jam nut. Success. After replacing the defective nut and using all 6 of the rubber washers, I did get the flush valve installed and there were no leaks.

These are brand name and are the best and easy install! Best thing no HOME DEPOT ! Messy stores, different location of Merch from store to store. Some folks have bad attitude or the usual “ This my second day, let me get someone to help”

While I have used Fluidmastrer products many times over the years in my second job as a handyman, this unit was not up to the quality I had come to expect. THe flapper valve did not seal against the new seat. I called customer service for some help and was told I would have to send a picture and an e-mail to them so they could review my warranty claim. Give me a break! This is not my first rodeo. I was told I would have a response within 24 hours. In the meantime my toilet is still leaking . Not what I would hae expected from a company that used to be a leader in the plumbing repair field.

So far, the product is working as it suppose to. Came with all the necessary parts and the instructions were clear and easy to follow.

Perfect fit for the American Standard toilet. Installation is quick if you have the right tools, and the price is reasonable.

Changing the Flush valve was not as hard as I thought it would be. The old flash valve was causing a slow leak that cause the tank it run for minute every hour. Changing the flapper did not solve this problem. I changed it with this kit and I am very happy with the results. I also change the washers and bolts that hold the tank to the bowl. I am glad that I did. The old washer were a mess and were going to fail very soon. Before, the tank was full of black depree from the old washers--not any more. That is why I included picture of the tank. I like Fluidmaster stuff. One improvement I suggest for the installation instructions is to cut the tube to length before reattaching the back, since it took me a few tries to get it right. It is easy to cut. I used the smaller nuts to connect the bolts to the tank.
