This is Thai chili paste. For those who aren't familiar with this, the main flavor comes from fermented shrimp; it has a sea-foody funk and depth of flavor more comparable to fish sauce than "hot" sauce. It adds a complexity to certain Thai dishes that really takes them to the next level. I love it. Your mileage may vary. If you cook Thai, you should probably try it.

Very good flavor, not hot. I just got mine with expiration date June 1, 2026. Highly recommend, but you have to use it quick....

Bought this brand instead of Thai Kitchen for the first time. My wife commented on the dish itself and said the chili paste was amazing! If it's that good that you can taste it in the dish, I'll buy it every time. Very good value and excellent product. It was even packed super well; bubble wrap taped around the glass then put in a small box with decent packing material around it. No reservations about recommending this one for your Thai cooking needs! Just go buy a big vat of this stuff and go nuts!

Order received earlier than expected. Delivery is by postal service. The postman put my items in my mailbox. Quite risky as it’s not registered post. For the price charged one would expect delivery by hand by some courier service. Nevertheless, all items received in good condition. The chilli paste is delicious... my family has been using this brand for cooking for many years. This is our favourite brand for Thai chilli paste. Will definitely buy again. Will be better if seller sells bigger bottles.

After devoting way too much time trying to find Nam Prik Pao (Thai Chili Paste) in my community, I resorted to ordering from Amazon. I was determined to make several Thai food recipes that called for this ingredient so I tried not to dwell on the $35/ 8 oz cost and instead convinced myself the gorgeous jar and the other great reviews justified my purchase. I prepared for a longer wait as I knew this Thai Chili Paste was being shipped from Thailand. It arrived ahead of schedule in just under 3 weeks. Whoever packaged this item deserves great credit. The beautiful jar was in a high quality clear plastic bag and securely surrounded with so much bubble wrap that I believe it would have survived a fall from any height. I am excited to start using this chili paste for chicken coconut soup, Tom yum soup and Thai cashew chicken plus more!!!

Took a while to reach me because of the different lockdown measures within countries but product arrived in good condition and is of the same quality that I am familiar with. It is of course more expensive online versus buying it in Thailand yourself but with the travel restrictions, I'm just happy to have it available in my kitchen for the time being.
