It's Just! - 100% Whey Protein Concentrate, 1.25lb, Unflavored

This was the first protein powder I tried. I loved it but thought I should try another brand to compare. It's Just Whey wins hands down! It's Just has no flavor and dissolves well in yogurt (my go to). I'm particularly sensitive to taste and It's Just is undetectable in yogurt. I put it in my chocolate protein shake one day and found it gave it a light malty flavor. By comparison I tried Naked Whey. I found it had a weird aftertaste that tasted like balloon or latex. I also found it clumps horribly in oatmeal where as It's Just dissolved smoothly. I'm now an exclusive It's Just Whey customer.

As an unorthodox use, add a few tablespoons to home made mac and cheese or your queso dip. It makes it even creamier like ball park nacho cheese but you can make it from real cheese! It tastes great. Other than that, it tastes like watery milk and dissolves pretty easily. I've been very happy with it!

Good tasting, no artificial sweeteners or artificial flavors. It is just a tiny bit harder to mix in, but a shaker bottle or a blender easily does it. It’s a good value, and came packaged well.

I'm 50/50 about this product. I think there's a good amount of protein per serving and I like that the powder does not have an overwhelming flavor like most other protein powders do, which I absolutely cannot stand. I don't drink things like coffee, smoothies or shakes, so I wanted a protein powder that I could cook with to supplement my diet. While this protein powder has been the best I've used so far while cooking there are still a few issues. When mixing in with a liquid you have to be sure to add small amounts at a time and whisk briskly or it will not dissolve very well. I found that with colder liquids it was less of an issue but in warmer liquids it would clump up and be hard to break down. When making baked goods like pancakes the powder doesn't impact the taste or texture very noticeably but when I try to use it and scrambled eggs even a little bit can change the texture and taste of the eggs, making them almost chalky. For larger batches this may be less noticable but if you're a single person just trying to make breakfast it's not the best. I'll experiment with different foods in the future but I think I'll stick to using this in baked goods like pancakes, muffins, and breads.

I really like this whey protein. It goes down easily, and I especially love that it’s unflavored. I can mix it into a drink or use it when baking without having to worry about the protein powder’s flavor clashing with the other ingredients. The 3 lb size is also a great value for the amount you get. I’ve bought this multiple times and keep coming back to it because it’s so versatile and easy to use.

I've been using this for about 2 months now, and yeah it isn't the best tasting if you eat it alone, but it's manageable as long as you aren't a little cry baby. If you wanted something that tasted like ice cream, there is plenty of artificially sweetened and sugar filled proteins out there, go buy those. It blows my mind that some people are leaving bad reviews saying "Unflavored Whey Protein" didn't taste great. Do you not know what whey protein is? It's a by-product of cheese making, which involves aging milk. You purchased unflavored powdered rotten milk, and expected it to taste good? I have made this into fruit smoothies and it's not bad at all. When low on time and want to get a scoop down, I'll take the powder, get a little bit of hot water and mix the scoop into it, to get it all dissolved, then throw a few ice cubes in it and top it off with about a cup of cold milk then stir it together. Tip it back and it's down in about 5 seconds and between the milk and the powder, that is over 30 grams of protein already. In my opinion, the appeal is to avoid unwanted sugar and additives, which is the reason I bought it, and will continue to use it. Again. Exactly as advertised, anyone who says otherwise, clearly is not in the market for "unflavored whey protein".

i’m super sensitive to the consistency of mixed protein powder. Most make me nauseated and taste bad. I mixed this protein powder into a cold water and flavored drink mix. it blended flawlessly, with a shaker ball cup. it has no taste or aftertaste. Its helping me meet my low carb, hydration and protein goals without added sugar in one drink. great value for the money. BUY IT!

Update (3/16/2024): The price, as with most food items, just keeps climbing and climbing. Just two months after original purchase, it shipped Subscribe and Save with a $12 increase. You think you can play games with the price once people subscribe? Cancelled! Original Review (Jan 2024): This is about the most affordable whey protein I can find available as of January 2024. I've been struggling trying to down pea and brown rice protein the past couple of years as the price of whey protein went astronomical. But I'm sick of those vegan proteins now and want to go back to whey. So, I'm sucking it up and paying the elevated price of $55 for a 5lb tub (Subscribe-and-save). This whey protein has great flavor for being unflavored. I mix it with whole milk and a mixture of a few other things, including hemp seeds, chia seeds, and MCT oil. It tastes lightyears better than the vegan proteins (which are repulsive and required lots of masking). It also mixes fairly well, with very little clumping. Whey protein also has the benefit that it doesn't create a huge mess when transferring from the tub to the bottle. The vegan protein powders always got absolutely everywhere, no matter how careful I was in scooping them out and dumping in the bottle. The whey is just far superior and much cleaner to mix. I don't buy the flavored whey protein powders anymore, as they usually either contain too much sugar or artificial sugars (like sucralose or acesulfame potassium, which are carcinogens) in addition to unhealthy fillers (like maltodextrin, which is just another type of sugar/carb) and emulsifiers. Almost none of them contain stevia anymore (unless they're way overpriced). So I just buy unflavored and add my own healthier flavoring, like pure cocoa powder. I am aware that the sunflower lecithin added to this is an emulsifier, which I could do without. But you won't find an affordable whey protein without at least one other ingredient like an emulsifier. At least it's the only other ingredient in this one.
