This is a really handy book. It talks about the codes and the rationale behind them and shows pictures and illustrations of correct and wrong products, procedures and outcomes. It is very straightforward and tackles a lot. It also suggests when to get help so that one doesn't get in over one's head. I've read most of it and am very impressed. I have several Code books, written mostly by lawyers, and this is the easiest to understand. It won't prepare you for contractor's license test, but if you are a DIYer, this is a must!

1.no code number listed so I am not sure the statements are from which code or authors. 2.P151. sec 4-6 are quite confuse, they shall be explained using graphs. I believe IRC P3108.1 is more clear. 3.Don't use long statements to describe code, especially examples. Use smaller graphs. 4.Incomplete. Not easy to get it complete, but, authors shall refer to a few building permits to know what are needed by cities, in all aspects.
