These things are awsome. I didn't know I would be using them to cure my homegirls nail polish worked like a charm! Not too bright easy on the eyes. Multiple uses for curing uv activated resins and compounds to party or personal entertainment.

that I recently installed purple LED's in for a fuller effect. No flickering or hum. A tad darker than I expected when it comes to 'bringing out' the purple glow from the white, hence 4 stars. But they look good and screw right into any standard light socket.

Not very powerful. You have to aim it at fluorescent surfaces directly to have any effect. The geometry of the bulb is such that the UV LED's aren't going to illuminate in all directions, but rather in a more spotlight-way. If it were brighter this could be fine, but it's very weak. On the bright side it doesn't get hot and it doesn't consume much electricity.
