Oil pan leak.....
Dealer reseal oil pan that well did not need resealing. After some time the magic oil leak came back and guess what your oil pan is leaking again. One the 5.3 this little orgine sits under the vvt solinoid and will weep oil. 3 bolts unplugged connector swap seal leak fixed. Bad dealer diagnostics.

Saved me $1000+ at the GMC Dealer! 2016 Yukon XL 5.3L - 20 minute repair
Works great on my 2016 Yukon XL 5.3L - 60K miles. I went to the dealer and they said this was leaking and it would cost over $1000 to fix. They said it was very labor intensive and the water pump had to be removed, etc. I looked at it and I could see all 3 bolts and it didnt look that involved so I rolled the dice. I was correct. On my 2016, not sure about earlier years, GM seems to have changed the water pump design so you can get at this cover easily. So far it works great and no leaks!
