Snap Circuits - 3D M.E.G. Electronics Discovery Kit

Great educational toy for the kids and this company has free replacement parts, you can get one per purchase or something, limited terms but that's nice anyways. Kids learned a lot about circuits and we have multiple versions of this. 3d was fun with light items and disco ball, etc.Would ask the manufacturer though, if there is any way that at least the holding plates or portions of the circuits could have wood instead of plastic though. Our one regret about this item is that we purposefully purchased so much plastic. There simply has to be a way to deliver this same education without all the plastic. Thank you.

The media could not be loaded. My gifted 6 year old grandson reads well and follows directions well. Would normally recommend for 8-12. Has lots of projects he does by himself. He thinks they are great fun. We let him skip directions if he wants as long as he reads any red flagged items which tell him to be careful. Great book, great pieces!

These are great. Have several sets. My son has been building these since he was 5. He is 9 now and makes up his own connects. It is worth it to get the ac adapter vs using batteries but they still last.

Very nice, a lot of different experiments to do.

My boys LOVES these snap circuits!! They are just hard enough to challenge them but not hard enough that they can't do it independently. Definitely would buy for a gift!

Good product, my 6 year old grand daughter was building basic circuits in a few minutes. Simple to setup. My only issue (and the reason for only 4 stars) is that snapping on the parts is not very easy. Plus it's hard to modify the design without dismantling the whole thing. Just snapping off one part caused everything to come off. There are even some parts that look like they should fit but don't. You have to rotate the parts. I guess I expected Lego style connections where everything just seems to connect. I still recommend it though.

My son is 7 1/2 and really enjoyed this gift. He has the basic set, which he enjoys, but thought he would enjoy one with more options. We enjoy working with him as well.

Single digit little one is very much into STEM. She has mastered a smaller set of these after working with it in her school library. The best part is her knowledge of the underlying science (closed vs open loop, resistors, etc) has progressed to the point of being able to explain the science in her words to older family members. Tried to trick her by making some crazy looking setup and she correctly told me it wouldn't work because the circuit wasn't closed.
