Can these be worn without additional menstrual products?

Yes my daughter wears them to school but takes another pair in her bag as will only last about 4 hrs if she is heavy. She loves them feels more confident and comfortable

Can you tumble dry them?

I haven't tried but I don't know why not at low temperature. It takes a while for them to dry in the hanger though.

Are these ok with no pad or tampon?

Yes for lighter flow . Bought for 10 year old daughter.

What would happen if I wore them when I have very heavey flow and went swimming?

I think these would just soak up the water. Instead of those, I would look into period swimwear- it exists!
