Just works.
Very high quality. Broke several HSS and cobalt bits before I switched to this carbide bit. Worked well without issue and got the job done in hardened steel.

Saved my bacon
Had the head snap off on a blade bolt on my John Deere. Off and on spent a few days trying different things including an extractor kit. Problem with the extractor kit is that I couldn't really get a dent into the remaining bolt. I bought this drill bit and after maybe 5-10 minutes of drilling I had enough to get an extractor head hammered in. The other reviews said it was fragile. Maybe so. It got the job done for me. If I had to buy another one to get out of the next pickle it would be worth the $10

Skip the store brands, buy this.
I had a nightmare trying to drill through hardened steel using store bought drillbits. The ones were labeled for metal and would burn out after just a few seconds of use, no amount of oil would keep them going. Those Carbide-tipped drillbits couldn't handle it. These solid carbide bits did the job immediately, and after the project were still sharp and like new. They didn't deflect during use and were actually more affordable than the failed drillbits I used used before. Highly recommend.

Snapped immediately
Broke within seconds. Didn't apply too much pressure or speed. Nice and slow with plenty of cutting fluid. Snapped off immediately.

Top Notch!
This drill bit did the job when all the others I had wouldn't even scratch the surface . Was a case hardened bolt . Glad this tungsten carbide bit cut right through it. Thanks a bunch for the quality bit. Saved me a whole lot of headache!

Hit or Miss
I had stopped writing reviews but felt I needed to do one for these. Let me start by saying I have top of the line DeWalt and Milwaukuee Cobalt bits. When starting my drilling on this hardened steel, both brands snapped after hardly a scratch. A quick bit of internet research said I needed carbide bits. I ordered these. While waiting for them to show, I read a number of negative reviews here and was pretty nervous. These bits are magic. They have gone through my hardened metal without issue. Mind you, I am on the lowest speed setting and using oil. While being a bit pricey for the 3, I have no regrets. Update: I was a bit hasty in the above review as I had only used 2 of the 3. Sadly, when I chucked up the 1/16" bit and started on the same piece of Hardened steel, it shattered immediately just like in some of the other negative reviews. The fracture line was up the shaft. I thought perhaps I had found a "harder" section but chucked up the 3/32" in the same spot and saw curly fries with no effort. I wonder if there is a QC issue.

Cuts Through Chrome Moly Vanadium Steel Like a Hot Knife Through Butter
This carbide bit is very hard and very sharp, and with barely any pressure was able to drill out chrome molybdenum vanadium steel alloy. For my particular application, I needed gradually turn the bit from a 45 degree to 90 degree drill angle to get to the buried end of a blind pin. The bit held up like a champ and didn’t break despite the lateral pressure. This probably had much to do with it’s incredibly smooth, efficient cutting power. This is an extremely high quality bit — I highly recommend it. Other people using cobalt steel bits were experiencing a great deal of frustration. This carbide bit by Drill America accomplished in seconds, what the others took 2+ hours to achieve.

Superior than anything I can get locally!
I am 100% convinced. Tried drilling into hardened steel that laughed at everything I could get locally. Ordered this from Amazon overnight, and WOW, what a difference. This is a low speed bit, recommended between 500-1000RPM. You're also going to need some sort of cutting oil and to remember carbide is brittle. You can feel it biting, and it will immediately let you know if you've changed your angle.

Best kind
This drill through stainless steel like it’s butter, I couldn’t find cobalt drill bits that could drill through a stainless steel, got this drill bit and using a drill press it was so easy.
