My 5-year old great-niece (and her daddy) LOVED opening the geodes to see the crystals inside! The kit was a big hit at Christmas. The Nat Geo kits offer learning opportunities that are engaging for both kids and their parents!

So cool! The kids absolutely loved getting to smash open rocks. It was a super fun experience for everyone and we opened some pretty cool rocks!

Both grandchildren love this item, they love explore and dig. This is perfect no messes, if ther they would clean the their mess I think that it this is very educational and fit the ages

Cool little activity, my son liked it a lot. Some of the geodes were pretty small and hard to crack open cleanly though. They would just smash into little pieces. They also all had white colored crystals. The box shows other colors so my son was excited for a purple one, but no luck. Otherwise it was fun. You just need a hammer and chisel-type tool, or you can put it in a tube sock and hit it with a hammer according to the instructions. Comes with safety goggles.

These are so much fun! They're beautiful and we all had a great time opening them. The variety was great, lots of sizes and colors! They're even prettier when you clean off the dust, definitely recommend!

Hard to break open. Really need a stone saw made for this. Careful, really shatters when finally broken into.

I love these my husband has gotten me these for gifts multiple times and if your a rock enthusiast like me but have horrible luck finding geodes these are amazing and so much fun to break open and they all are beautiful!
