Simple Houseware Mesh Desk Organizer with Sliding Drawer, Double Tray and 5 Upright Sections, Black

At first, I found the assembly process a bit puzzling, but it was straightforward. Once put together, the organizer fits my desk perfectly and offers excellent functionality for keeping loose papers, sticky notes, and other desk accessories in order. I appreciate that it doesn't take up much space, making it a great addition to my workspace. Overall, I recommend it for anyone looking to improve desk organization.

I saw this online and thought it would be great, then I read the reviews and there were complaints about it doesn't assemble easy, the pins are too small, it's not sturdy enough etc. I ordered it anyway thinking eh, I got a 50/50 shot. It comes, I open it, everything comes out, a pack of hardware, a pack of dividers, 3 flat shelf things 2 side brackets a plastic drawer and 3 file folder dividers (Yes, I said file folder dividers, remember that for later) I started putting it together to see how it fits and then I remembered, WAIT... a lot of reviews complained about it not fitting together properly. So I stopped myself and went to the instructions. The instructions are simple enough, printed on the front and back. No, not that sheet that tells you to put the black pin IN the white brace in the hole. PAY ATTENTION TO THE SIDES OF THE SHELVES there are 3 flat pieces that all have different edges, 1 is for holding up the FILE DIVIDERS. Ok, so , I begin putting it together. Yes, the parts are going to easily warp, its mesh aluminum on aluminum or tin frames, what did you expect? I put the slats for FOLDERS on first. There's 3 with 2 walls to make 5 spaces for FOLDERS. You match it over the hole, then put the white brace ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE 2 HOLES, then you put the black pin IN THE WHITE BRACE, push it all the way down and it will make the white brace split at the bottom, this is supposed to happen, don't be afraid. This is what holds it down, do that for the rest of them. Then you have to put the sides on the shelves. Follow the instructions, it's pretty easy, there's pictures. The drawer is pre-assembled. Now, In some of the reviews there were people complaining about sturdiness and then put heavy books in the file organizer. Guys... it's not a book shelf, it's an office/home office stationary organizer with file folder dividers on top. That's for NOT HEAVY BOOKS. Maybe one or 2 normal paperbacks in the middle, but jeez I seen some pictures with like heavy books that almost take up the whole slot. That's not what this is for, if you want a bookcase, go buy a bookcase. Is it good for the price? YES Is it sturdy enough for thick and/or hard covered books? NO Will it work for folders, files, post its, paper clips, pens, pencils, scissors, etc? YES Is this like the same one I saw in Target and Walmart but cheaper? YES

I always strive to give honest and objective reviews point out the pros and cons of every product I review with details buyers might find helpful in their personally situation. Pros: I have limited space in my home, so I'm always trying to consolidate, organize, and maximize space. This desk organizer is an excellent buy. The metal is strong. The entire organizer is quite stable. The drawer slides in and out smoothly and easily. The pencil cup is easy to attach and upright sections hold a reasonably sized folder. I keep my plastic expanding folders (purchased/reviewed on Amazon) in the slots that I use for taxes, expenses, documents I need fairly often, but I don't want to store in my filing cabinet. The slots will hold even the ones that are pretty much fully expanded. The pencil holder is nice plus as it holds a nice quantity of pens, even scissors. Cons: Although the pencil holder is a plus, it's a con too. It's relatively hard plastic, so if you're using it in a spot where there might be a lot of traffic where someone might hit it or you're a bit of a fumbler, this might break off easily. While the one drawer was great, I really needed two. The slot above the drawer is relatively decent size, but unless you're using it to hold a box of envelopes, a few papers, *maybe* a small amount of printer paper, it wasn't of any real use. Con Into Plus: To maximize my use of the organizer, I purchased a metal mesh drawer on Amazon (8.5"D x 12"W x 1.8"H) that fits the slot directly over the drawer perfectly. I now have two drawers to spread out my various clips, knife cutter, etc. Recommendation: I can highly recommend this product. If it had included the second drawer, I would have given it 5 stars. But I did adapt and have exactly what I wanted.

It was easy to assemble. All parts, plus an extra of the little pieces were included. No sharp edges. Sturdy.

This is great for managing the files I use frequently on my desk and storing a few essential home office supplies. Seems sturdy enough and took almost no assembly. Exactly what I was looking for.
