Great for the price, highly recommend for a basic upgrade.
Installed this into an 1987 Monte Carlo. This provided great sound when paired with the Pioneer speakers in the front and the rear Kenwood speakers. I am not using an amp. Sound is clear. USB play back works well. The large knob is a great feature and makes controlling the radio easier when driving. The button placement is logical with the most used ones in logical locations. The display is easy to read. It is a nice feature that the display and button brightness can be programed. Also unlike many radios I have installed over the years this dims properly with when the headlights are turned on. This is a great stereo for cursing around with far superior sound quality to stock. It is not a deep radio so it fits well in the dash. A nice feature is that the clock sets itself off of the FM signal that it picks up. One downside is that the advertised app is not available for use with my Pixel phone. The play store states it cannot be installed since it was made for an older version of Android.

Good value
This is working well, with no surprises. As with all these radios, the settings are a bit arcane and not easy to access, but the sound is good and the Bluetooth connects reliably. It's nice that the supplied microphone actually works well in my convertible car. When making calls, I don't have to shout.

Easy and clean install in Jeep Wrangler TJ
Looks and sounds great and had no issues installing in my 04 Jeep Wrangler TJ. So far very pleased with the unit. It can be a little slow at startup and sometimes I have a little trouble connecting through Bluetooth, but most of the time it connects automatically and works as it should. It has alot more good going for it than bad and sounds great with my current setup. The hands free microphone works well enough. Great unit and definitely worth it for something not too expensive that checks mostly all the boxes.

Questionable Features
I bought the JVC KD-SX27BT because I wanted to upgrade from my 2015 model Alpine CDE-151 because it didn't have BlueTooth for handsfree phone use. The BlueTooth in this JVC works fine with my iPhone and the sound of the stereo is good too. The radio bands work as I would expect. I think the Aux In would also work fine but I haven't tried it. I set the clock when I installed the stereo and it lost the setting one time after that but I reset it and it has remained set since then. The EQ has several preset choices and there is a manual EQ setting that you can make. Other than those things, the JVC stereo is a disappointment to me. The menus for setting it up are hard to understand and navigate. For some strange reason, the button to enter the menu system is a very tiny one on the right end of the main button row, smaller than the pad of my little finger, and the opposite button to go back a level in the menus is the tiny one on the left end of main buttons. In addition, both tiny buttons are multi-function depending on what you are doing with them. The phone control button is placed below the volume knob and hard to see to quickly answer while driving. I haven't been able to get the search function to work in any meaningful way to search folders of albums on my flash drive. If I just insert a USB flash drive drive, the stereo will play each folder in succession but it's unknown to me how to jump to a specific folder using the search function. I've downloaded the operating manual and read through the section several times while at the stereo and it doesn't seem to do what is written. All I can do is use the forward and backward buttons to cycle through songs or albums in succession. Incidentally, the search button is the tiny one on the left that I mentioned before. I think I can't get it to work because it is a multifunction button that requires some action that I haven't discovered yet and wasn't written about in the manual. What bothers me the most is that there doesn't seem to be a simple way to adjust the bass, mid, treble, balance, or fade without having to go into Audio Settings menu (using those tiny buttons) and backing out of each adjustment to go to the next one. On my old Alpine, I can simply press one button labeled AUDIO and it would cycle through each of those settings, stopping just long enough on each for me to adjust it with the rotary knob, then move to the next one. In the JVC it is dangerous to try going into the menus to adjust them while driving. The display is plenty bright but the data scrolling by on the screen is not presented meaningfully like it was on my Alpine, which would show the folder and track number always on the display, and then the group, album, and song title if I pressed one button repeatedly. The JVC seems to change the order of those things, sometimes showing more or less, and it never shows the folder number. Maybe most people don't use USB music but I have a nice collection that I love to listen to when driving. I decided that my Alpine stereo is way better than this JVC and I'm putting it back in the car. I just ordered a standalone BlueTooth unit that clips on the visor and has speakers, a mic, and controls to wirelessly interface the iPhone for handsfree calling. When a call comes in, all I will need to do is pause the Alpine music manually and touch the Answer button on the BlueTooth unit. I should have thought of that solution before. There's no need to involve the car stereo for phone calls. Maybe my issues won't matter to some people but If I bought another stereo, I'd probably look at Pioneer, Sony, or Kenwood.
