Ultimate Circular Saw for Heavy-Duty Projects
This saw is a game-changer for anyone tackling serious framing projects. I gotta say, this DEWALT FLEXVOLT 60V MAX* Circular Saw (DCS577B) is an absolute beast! It's like having a powerhouse in your hands, ready to slice through any lumber like butter. The 7-1/4-inch blade is a beast at cutting through thick wood with precision. I've used it for building a deck, and let me tell you, it made the job so much easier and faster. The battery life is impressive, lasting through several projects without needing a recharge. I love how smooth and accurate the cuts are - it's like a hot knife through butter! If you're serious about your woodworking game, I highly recommend this saw. It's a total game-changer!

Great Saw!
I was curious about a blade left circular saw, there were so many professionals that act like it is an absolute necessity. So I figured I would give it a try with DeWalts Flexvolt as I already have batteries from the Flexvolt 60v Sidewinder. First things first, this saw is VERY powerful, more powerful then any circular saw I have ever seen. It cuts extremely smooth with no resistance pushing forward. All of my cuts were dead on and the saw was just begging for more. Now for the blade left orientation, to me its not really a big deal, I feel like I can cut fine with blade right or blade left. However a few times I accidentally grabbed the saw as if I were going to cut left handed (which I've never done before) because I am so used to the blade being on the opposite side. But people act like blade left is the best thing since sliced bread, and to be honest I do not think it is a necessity. Blade right is perfectly fine if that is what you are used to, but I feel like I can cut fine with either. Having said that, there are instances that you may run into where its good to have a blade left saw or a blade right saw, so I am going to keep it to have the best of both worlds. The saw is great, and is definitely better then the original Flexvolt Sidewinder. Though this is not a true worm drive saw, its more powerful then 90% of the worm drive saws out there. I've read a lot of complaints about the weight, these people better grow some guns because this saw is not that heavy, I can easily work all day with this thing and I am not really a big guy, 5'11/average build and I have no problem lugging this thing around. I love the smaller profile shoe compared to the sidewinder which is common among worm drive saws as there is less surface area which means less friction and resistance but also means it is not as stable as a bigger shoe saw, but with practice you will be fine. All of the guides and settings are easy to read and adjust, I especially like that the 0 degree cut line has a notch which I prefer then just a line like most saws have. Cannot really speak to battery life yet, but have had no issues so far. All in all it feels very solid, the only thing that felt a little flimsy to me was the safety switch, kinda felt like it may start getting stuck or something in the future, maybe not but it did feel cheap. If you are on the fence about staying right blade or switching to left, I say stick with right blade, if your just in the market for a circular saw and do not care about blade orientation then BUY THIS SAW.

Solid Beast ; but heavy; kills batteries like ants
Solid Beast of a saw. Powers through pretty much anything you throw at it. Make no mistake though, this is not a one handed reach out on a roof kind of saw. Love it though Update: biggest issue is it absolutely trashes fully charged 60v 6ah batteries. I am demo-ing a 10x20 deck and it only takes (4) 10 foot passes through 5/4 decking to kill the battery. If your lucky you might get five. I only own four of the 6ah so it made the saw useless by mid morning. I dont know if a 12ah will fit in this saw but it needs it or better power management.

Powerful and Reliable Battery-Powered Saw for Heavy-Duty Cutting
This battery-powered saw truly stands out from the rest in terms of performance. While it may lean on the heavier side, this actually works to your advantage, providing stability and precision when cutting through wood. The impressive torque it offers allows you to effortlessly slice through treated pine of considerable thickness, like 6x6 beams. Surprisingly, the battery life exceeded my expectations, ensuring prolonged and uninterrupted usage. It's an ideal choice for those involved in framing or requiring a durable yet portable circulat saw for extensive cutting tasks. With this saw, you can tackle heavy-duty projects with ease and efficiency.

A Real Game Changer In Saws
I am a concrete contractor doing commercial projects throughout California. During my 42 year career I have seen battery powered tools evolve from the very first Mikita 9v drill motor to the completely revolutionary 60v tools offered now. My crews literally fight over these 60v circular saws and this is the very first saw which rivals the power of a corded tool. PLUS: Full 7-1/4” blade. So many others (including 20v and 36v tools) are limited to a 6-1/2” blade. Feels like and operates like the Skill 77 worm drive saw. Battery life is astonishing. I’ve cut hundreds of 2 X 4 plates with one battery with power to spare. Blade is on the left side of the tool which is essential for a right handed operator. That affords an unobstructed view of the cut line and blade while operating. NEGATIVES: I hate, hate, HATE the safety switch on all battery operated circular saws. But they ALL have them. Personally, I don’t “get it”. Why are corded saws manufactured without this safety switch yet cordless saws are all made with them? Overall it’s an amazing tool and a real money maker for me. Labor costs are by far the most expensive component of what I do. So no more unrolling cords, fighting as those cords get caught continuously on form work, metal stakes and rebar. I see that Dewalt will soon be offering a 12 amp hour battery. I currently use the 9ah batteries and would recommend using the 9ah or 12 ah battery.

Powerful Circular Saw That Exceeds Expectations
I recently purchased the DEWALT FLEXVOLT 60V MAX* Circular Saw for Framing and I am blown away by its performance. This tool is an absolute game-changer and has made my woodworking projects so much easier and faster. The 7-1/4-inch blade is perfect for cutting through thick materials with precision. I love the convenience of it being a tool only, allowing me to use my existing batteries. The build quality is top-notch, and I can tell this saw is built to last.

Shipping came earlier than expected, within a couple days, just on time for Christmas. Tool meets exceptions, husband says it’s heavy, but makes immaculate cuts to wood. Would recommend to anyone in the market for this style of saw!

I've had the dewalt 6 1/2 cordless saw for years and even got the 6amp flexvolt batteries last year which gave it more power than the 4amp batteries decided to upgrade this year to this 7 1/4 saw it has so much more power. Bit more weight but totally manageable with one hand like everyone really uses it. I build decks and fences so I'm moving around alot not having to keep moving cords to get the power of a corded saw is great for me for ripping boards down. The only thing bad I have to say about this saw is the safety location its awkward to hit with your thumb would be much better with a button on the back of the handle easier to push or pull down or just a on/off safety switch instead of off to the side so much.
