I bought this for an unconventional use. I have an outdoor fountain that the birds like to drink out of and they frequently drop seed in the water making it dirty. It’s a pain to constantly empty all of the water to get rid of the waste. This fluid extractor essentially allows me to vacuum up the particulates at the bottom. This is going to save me a lot of time and hassle.

This 200cc fluid extractor system worked great for me. I used it mainly for injection rather than extraction, but it works both ways. I used it for putting differential oil into an AWD diff after first having drawn it in from the bottle. This too, and hose made it easily to get the fluid (75-90 gear oil) into that fill point with no mess. It came with an alternate grey pair of plunger seals, which I forget know what they’re for. Maybe a different type of fluid. I’ve had no problems with it and sealing works well.

Great for power steering fluid reservoir

They said that it is long enough to reach hard-to-reach locations… but it’s not. I bought it because I accidentally put too much motor oil, so I needed something to feed through the dipstick chamber to siphon out the excess. It comes with 2 hard tubes/hoses (similar to those of the straws of some drinking tumblers). One hose is 20 cm (7.8 in.) long, 3/8 in. diameter, second hose is 20 cm (7.8 in.) long, 1/4 in. diameter with an adapter to connect both hoses together to make them longer. Problem #1 is that both hoses together is a total of 40 cm (15.7 in) long, & the dipstick is a little longer than 18 in. long, which is about the depth of the dipstick chamber. Problem #2 is that the adapter is so bulky that when you attempt to feed the 1st hose through, it stops at the adapter because it doesn’t fit down the dipstick chamber, so you can only use one hose length anyway (unless you are using it in the power steering of brake fluid chambers, for example, which have large openings. I wasn’t able to use it so I can say anything about how it functions overall, but it would recommend that instead of coming with 2 same size length hoses, they should instead give you 1 long hose (about 19-20 in. in length & no wider than 3/16 in in diameter, for the dipstick chamber). 1 long hose 19-20 in. in length & 3/8 diameter, 1 long hose 19-20 in. in length & 1/4 in. In diameter & the same diameter measurements of the long hoses, but shorter for less deeper areas. So a total of 6 hoses to cover most of your “basic” bases.

I was originally looking at a 12 volt pump when this one showed on my screen. Electric pumps have moving parts and may fail more. Also, electricity and some fluids don’t play nice in the sandbox. I received my pump/transfer unit yesterday. Upon first inspection I could see it is made very well. The tubes to suck up the fluid are a good length and very flexible. You get two tubes to extend the length. The pump Handel is well made and I think it will stand up to frequent use. Extra seals are included. All in all a very well made product at a reasonable price.
