Best for pet hair on your floor
If you have floors, this is the best vacuum you can own. It might be pricey, however, it’s just great for picking up small crumbs and debris, pet hair on the floor. We have cat litter and birds, and this vacuum can pick up all. The vacuum is not too loud and moves around on the floor effortlessly. It’s lightweight and swivels perfectly to navigate corners. This vacuum is easy to empty the holder with just one press, and the container empties instantly. I used to use a hand held vacuum to get fine particles and now, I use this cordless vacuum from Shark. We have the circular Shark cordless vacuum that can vacuum the whole home, however, it often gets clogged or needs to recharge to finish the home. This upright stick vacuum is something I should have purchased years ago. Also, it is something easy to put together. ….I did buy the protection plan because I am so tired of vacuums that just stop working and then I need to buy a new one.

Happy shark
Nice and compact, powerful suction for the price, attachments work great. Is really good for cleaning dirt under the coffee table and cat litter around the litter box area. I love that it changes settings automatically between hard floor and carpet. My only complaint is the dust container size, if you have pets you pretty much have to empty the container after each use which isn't the biggest deal, but would love to have maybe an option from the manufacturer to get a bigger container to attach. All in all really happy with the purchase.

Satisfied
I got the vacuum today and here are my initial thoughts. I have been relying on a low quality stick vacuum I bought for my classroom and brought to my house. It was barely picking anything without spitting it back out and was driving me nuts. Pros: Extremely easy to put together. I didn't even read the directions. Very lightweight. I like that the canister is on the bottom and debris doesn't need to travel though the entire stick to be deposited. The canister is also bigger than my other vacuum. Suction is much better than my last vacuum. I like that it has a setting for both hard floors and carpet since I have both. Cons: I think the handle is an odd design but works well enough. I wish turning the vacuum on and off, and switching between hard floor and carpet were separate buttons. I'm happy with this purchase so far, but will update when I've had it longer.

I love vacuuming! (Did I just say that?)
Yes, I did just say that. Because this is the best vacuum ever. I don't want to say this vacuum changed my life, because that sounds incredibly pathetic, but it kind of did. I am pretty sure I have vacuumed more in the last month than I have in my entire life. I show it to people when they come to visit and give them demonstrations. Not kidding. My husband saw his parents using it and when he came home from visiting them, the first thing we did was go out and buy this vacuum. I was skeptical. Every other vacuum I've ever encountered was heavy, awkward, inconvenient, tangly, frustrating, hard to store, and broke the minute you looked at it. It didn't matter what you spent on it--a lot or a little--it was still awful. I had given up on ever finding any vacuum that was not awful. This vacuum is aptly named. I am "free" to pick it up at any time with no janky cord in my way! It doesn't cramp my "style" because it is easy-to-use and maneuver, and super light to carry around, even up and down stairs. It is very "sucky"! I can't believe all the stuff I clean out of the bagless bag (which is effortless to clean out, just unclip it from the vacuum and then open the compartment and dump everything in it into the trash--so easy!!) each time I run it through the house. The charge lasts quite a while. We have a three bedroom home with both carpet and non-carpet floors, and I can do a quick vacuum of the whole house on a single charge. The charging stand is sleek and does not get in the way, whether or not the vacuum is on it. My husband and I both have long hair and we have several cats, but it's easy to cut off any hair that gathers around the roller--no unscrewing things or wrangling with taking things apart--and it gathers cat hair like you wouldn't believe. I use it daily to keep the kitchen crumb-free and around the areas of our cats' litterboxes and food dishes, and every few days around the whole house. We still have a super intense vacuum for occasional "deep vacuuming," but on a daily/weekly/casual basis, this vacuum is the bomb (yes, I also just said that), especially because it is such a good price. We paid $100 for ours and have said numerous times that it's the best $100 we've ever spent. The only thing I wish is that I could vacuum my furniture with it. I might be able to and just don't know it; I haven't really looked at accessories yet. I'd better go! I'm sure there's a crumb on the kitchen floor that needs the attention of me and my awesome Shark Navigator Freestyle. *flies away, cape billowing out behind her* ---- Edit 5/26/14 - I have an update that I thought I should share with everyone. Sadly, my beloved vacuum died a tragic death a few weeks ago while we were on vacation. Since the last person to use it was our housesitter, I do not know the exact circumstances of its death, but I mourned. I wanted to say, though, that this in no way diminished my love of this vacuum. No vacuum lasts forever, and this one lasted for eight months with near daily use. To replace it, we tried another, more expensive, swankier cordless stick vacuum and it was truly awful (check my other reviews if you want to know which one it was). We returned that one, and I came right here and ordered another of this one. I used it this morning, and all is right with the world again. Best vacuum ever and at $100 it's a steal. I shall never stray from it again!! Honestly, I am thinking of buying a spare of this vacuum in case they decide to stop making it.

Not happy.
There are exactly two things I like about this vacuum - the portable size/weight and the fact that it's battery operated. That is where the love ends. I don't think I've written a "bad" review before, but my annoyance about this product has compelled me to do so. Our home is 90% wood flooring with one decent sized low-nap area rug - seems like we should be a perfect fit for this type of vacuum, but I find that there are more things it WON'T suck up than stuff it will and this is very noticeable with bare feet on a wood floor. My list of things this vacuum won't suck up - 1. Cheerios (or similar small pieces of cereal/crackers/what-have you.) We have a child and these items are at least 50% of the reason we vacuum in the first place. It might fling it, even break it...but it really doesn't want to suck these up. 2. Sand or rock chips - we live on a gravel road. Little tiny bits of rock and sand end up around our doorway...this vacuum appears to suck them up, only to spit them back out elsewhere in my home as I continue to vacuum. I think they just get caught in the brush. I'm not talking big rocks here...just teeny little bits of sand! I've tried with both speeds of the brush - the higher speed just flings them everywhere. 3. Small scraps of paper - see number 1. We have a child. Why are these tiny lightweight bits of paper so difficult to vacuum? I can go back and forth over it 20 times and MAYBE it will suck it up if I hit it just right. 4. The straw that broke the camel's back today? A plastic swing tag. You know, the kind that holds a price tag onto a new shirt - only minus the actual price tag. Just a tiny, insignificant piece of plastic and it WOULD NOT SUCK IT UP. I tried every angle. I tried for longer than I care to admit. I would have wasted less time and energy by getting a broom and dustpan (for all the above, really!) I will say, this this thing WILL suck up pet hair fairly decently. That's really all I have to say that's positive about the suction. We tried troubleshooting as much as we could - emptying out the vac regularly, etc. No dice. So, onto the next problem - somewhere around the third week of usage, our unit came apart right where the floor portion meets the upright portion (photo attached.) There is nothing that broke from what we can tell - just sort of a plug that pushes into a groove (with no locking mechanism), so very easy to put back together, but now comes apart every time we pull the vacuum back towards us when vacuuming our area rug. It's literally so loose of a connection, that we now have to push it around (no pulling!) on the rug to vacuum it which seems like a heck of a lot of fuss considering it still doesn't suck up the stuff. We purchased this as a replacement for a vacuum that never gave us trouble until it just died one day. I just bought a newer version of that vacuum here on amazon. I'm done with this thing!

Powerful and easy to use.
Love, love, love this. It mm be small but is powerful. Works great on wood and carpet floors. I have to say this is our 3rd one. First, was new, 2nd used and after 3 years of lots of use finally wore out. We have one on each floor and use always. I highly recommend this. FYI I also take one in our camper when we are camping.

Does a Great Job as an in-between and Daily Use
This vac is pretty awesome. It is lighter than I expected. Some said that it was heavy at the top, which is because the battery is mounted there. Instead of trying to hold it up, I let it rest on my hand and move it around. The vac does a great job on hard floors, as it has two types of rollers - one is with the "blades" and the other is a microfiber material, which means it not only picks up debris, it also sweeps and cleans the dust that has settled on the floor. It also will pick up when moving forward and reverse. Some cordless vacs only pick up when moving forward. It passes the Cheerios test, and picks up crunchy cat food on the floor with ease. This vac has 3 settings - high and low, and then the Clean Sense, which allows the vac to determine which speed and power is needed. On hard floors, I let the Clean Sense do its job and by doing so, the battery lasts longer. I also will start with the auto feature in the rooms with carpet, but sometimes I will notch it up to "high" to get a little deeper into the carpet. Initially, I was concerned that the battery would not last throughout the house, but it does for the most part. Once I have run through the house, I dump the collection bin, fold up the vac for storage and then I plug in the battery charger to top it back off. I never put it up without charging it fully again. After it fully recharges, I unplug the charger from the vac. The folding feature of the vac is a great way to store the vac, though I worry about the plastic tubing being bent up 180 degrees. Based on some reviews about the folding feature breaking something in that area, I am very careful when folding it up. It also is still confusing which button I press to fold up versus opening the bin to dump out the contents. So far, I have not accidentally dumped the container by pushing the wrong button. I'm still learning a month into it. I like the odor neutralizer, as it leaves behind a pleasant smell. I am very sensitive to fragrances and the little cartridge that comes with the vac smells really good. My house has a fresh smell after vacuuming. You can dial in the amount of fragrance to be released, and I have it on low. It will also last longer the lower the setting used. I also note that there are replacement cartridges from other sellers for this vac, so I will not worry about using this one up without replacing it. This does not replace my Rainbow vacuum, but it sure is a heck of an easier way to keep the floors tidy. I also have the robot vac by the same manufacturer and sadly it is not getting used as much now that I have this cordless stick. With this stick, I can spontaneously decide to clean up the floors, but the robot requires me to go all around the house picking up everything small enough to get the robot stuck. I also have a handheld cordless vac by another company and I occasionally use it instead of the hand vac on this vac. This vac comes with two attachments - one for dusting and one is a crevice tool. I so far I have not utilized either one, but the dusting tool has microfiber all around it, so I am excited to try dusting next. So, overall I am pleased with this purchase. I will need to use this over time to report back on the durability and quality of the build to fully conclude the value. If this vac dies on me, you can be sure I will immediately revise my rating, since this was a luxury purchase for me and I expect it to hold up. But, for now this is a welcome addition to my home.

It works.
I've waited several months to really form my opinion about this vacuum because I genuinely wanted to like it. I previously had a cordless Dyson that was pretty old and the battery life on it just couldn't last anymore than 30m on the lowest suction setting. With new Dysons being $700+ at the cheapest that was a hard pass. I thought this one would be a fantastic alternative.... WELL I was wrong. As a mom of littles the vacuum gets A LOT of use. I find the thing so annoying.. like who designed this?! The folding feature to prevent you from putting holes in the wall has just become another barrier to vacuuming.. I bend down and have to unfold the vacuum before use every time. The suction? Meh. It's great if you have a light load for it to vacuum up but with the amount of crumbs, dirt, leaves, etc. that are coming into the house the auto-adjust suction sucks. If you have to put it up to high suction the battery drains QUICKLY. Oh and charging the dang thing? You're options are to either store it near a wall outlet so it can stay plugged in when not in use or somehow remember to pull the battery out after each use and plug it in on the kitchen counter to charge. And the attachments? Yeah stored in a separate place because there's no central storage area near the vacuum so I have to go find the attachments in a separate cabinet and go through the clunkiness of changing them. Overall, it's a fine vacuum and it gets the job done but if you're a busy mom or just a frequent vacuumer in general the extra time spent with all these awkward, non-ergonomic "features" all in the name of being proud not to put a hole in the wall are just annoying. Oh and the scented air-freshner added to the vacuum is gross. We rarely use scented products (kids eczema) and out the gate that thing is super strong smelling. One month into using it and it just smells like you're intentionally trying to cover a bad smell. The vacuum doesn't work if remove it so that's fun. I find myself reaching for my giant chunky corded old school vacuum far more frequently because it's no slower than this cordless vacuum and at least I'm not on a time crunch for the battery dying. Really wishing I had just spent the mortgage on a Dyson instead of wasting the money on this thing.
