Does this get rid of weed smell?

By eliminating airborne particles, it does provide some relief, but the off-gassing from these particles isn't fully addressed. The filters contain only a limited amount of activated carbon, which eventually becomes saturated.

For instance, my bedroom air purifier effectively filtered out wildfire smoke particles down to one micron, but it still emitted a smoky odor.

In contrast, my higher-end air purifier on the main floor boasts 780 cubic inches of activated carbon, preventing any unpleasant smells from escaping. It took about a year and a half for the carbon to become saturated.

In conclusion, while such filters can certainly help reduce the number of free-floating particles, they may not be entirely effective in eliminating odors.

For the price, you will notice a great improvement with air quality however.

how often must filter be replaced?

Accepted Answer

Depends on how much you have it on and at what speed you keep it on, along with the size of the room. Best way to find out is to use your device starting with a fresh filter and see how long it takes for it to need a new one in your space. Could be 3 - 4 months, more or less. It really depends.

Are these washable/reusable?

The instructions mention changing them when indicated by the unit.
It does not mention cleaning and recycling the filter.
As they have multiple filter screens, depending on what they are filtering (chemical fumes or dust) I would generally interpret that as no. 
Mine has just indicated to change the filter as I use it for chemical fumes from 3d printing.
The HEPA filter does a good job here, so I will change it.
They are expensive,  this one lasted for 11 months with the machine set to Auto with the occasional fan setting of 3 when it needed it.

Can this filter be washed by hand?

Seems like only the one made for pets is washable but then I think it's only the outside screen part that is removable and washable. The inside of the filters appears to be made of something like cardboard which will get wet and mold will grow before it has a chance to dry
