So the big reason to choose an OBDII port tracker is because you can plug it in and leave it - never needs charging, and it's always ready when the vehicle moves. The unit is pretty simple, looks much like an OBDII code reader like the one I have plugged into my Volvo C70, except this one provides tracking. The unit comes with a little booklet with a QR code you scan to get the app. Register - pretty simple, and straightforward, input a method of payment and choose your plan - monthly, yearly, prepaid - all simple and easy to understand. Once paid up and registered, I inserted the tracker into my wife's Ioniq 5 OBDII port and we went for a ride! It took about 5 minutes for the unit to establish a connection - and it tells you this in the booklet, so those who say this is a defect are revealing they didn't read the booklet. Once connected it displays a satellite map, moving display with "YOU' centered as a dot (I was in the car with it). It's not precisely "real time" there is a small lag, but no big deal. Because it's connected to the car's OBD port there is a speed readout, but that's also somewhat delayed. There is also a "history" function where you can review previous episodes in 1x - 8x speed. Without ANY DOUBT, wherever that car goes, you're going to see it! You can turn off the unit's status light from the app so it doesn't glow in the darkness and give away the fact that something is plugged into the OBDII port, but most people wouldn't know if something was there or not, or if it should be there, so that's not a problem unless whoever is operating the car is knowledgeable and suspicious. For$25 bucks, and an easy to setup app that works, I'd say this is a great value! The monthly rate is a whopping $8.95. This is great for when kids are driving, and in fact it's a good idea because if the car breaks down you can see exactly where the car is located! The unit looks durable and sturdy.

I brought one of these because I had previously purchased another product sold by the same manufacture. That product is located onboard my boat that is slipped about 100 miles from my home. It’s there to provide me with some peace of mind about its security. This device is slightly different in that it attaches directly to your ODB-II socket located under your driver dashboard. It’s easy to install (like 5-seconds) and is powered by your vehicle’s battery. Absolutely no maintenance required, and a very VERY low monthly service charge. This device is app-usable and with it you can track your vehicle ANYWHERE in the world in real-time, just as they advertise. It’s easy to use the app, and offers a lot of confidence in being able to locate your vehicle anywhere and at anytime. This thing REALLY WORKS. Since my first purchase I’ve brought 3 more of them for all my family’s vehicles. Great buy at a very good price.

When our daughter turned 16, we conditioned her ability to drive on her downloading an app on her phone that would let us know where she was. Being a typical teenager, she quickly figured out that she didn’t like us having the ability to monitor her, and she figured out how to disable the GPS functionality of the app. We purchased this tracker and installed it in her car without her knowledge and have immense peace of mind knowing we have a backup way of knowing where she is. The module is very discreet, especially given the location of the diagnostic port in her car. The ability to disable the status lights makes it even more unobtrusive. The mobile app is not the best. On my wife’s phone, when she plays back the history, it displays the date and time depicted on the map; on my phone it does not. If there is a way on the mobile app to designate locations that you want to be notified when the device enters and exits, I haven’t figured it out. On the computer website, it is fairly easy to designate these locations, and they do transfer to the mobile app. The playback speed on the history function is rediculously fast. I guess if you’re managing a fleet of cross country trucks, having a playback that fast is helpful, but it is tricky to adjust the playback speed for our application. Finally, the module comes with free 3-minute position reporting. Again, if you have a fleet of long-haul trucks that use predominantly the interstate highway, that might be all you need. We paid extra for 10-second reporting, and that seems to be perfectly adequate. No need to pay the extra extra for 3-second reporting. We were disappointed that the module does not report vehicle diagnostics as was highlighted in the item description on Amazon. No mileage, fuel level, etc. That was a feature that really sold us on the product. Our daughter drives a 2016 Mini, so it’s not like she’s driving a really old car. But all-in-all, very satisfied with the product. The accuracy seems to be everything we require. The 10-second reporting works well even in congested residential street systems. To recap, the PROS: 1. Location reporting and accuracy 2. No batteries to charge 3. Very discreet and unobtrusive 4. Made in USA The CONS: 1. Inconsistent mobile app 2. Minor issues with full-function website 3. Free 3-minute position reporting essentially worthless; true functionality only comes when you pay extra for more frequent reporting.

I purchased this product to keep track of drivers in the family, but I quickly found out it does more than just GPS tracking. Activation was quick and easy. Just create and account enter the serial number of the device and choose a tracking package. There were two plans available. One that refreshes the location every 10 seconds and on that refreshes every 60 seconds. The price for the 10 second plan is a little higher than the 60 second one. They do offer discount if you pay for months in advance. I'd like to see more plans to choose from in future updates. I chose the 60 second plan but i may change to the 10 second plan as a minute seems to be a little too long for me. Installation couldn't be any easier. you just locate the OBD2 port on the vehicle and check that you have the device lined up correctly (you can't really mess this up as the device can only go one way). Then turn the ignition switch. You don't even have to turn the vehicle all the way on, just enough to get the dash lights to come on and you are good. The GSP app and website will pick it up instantly. I do have a concern about removing the device, as it seemed to be a tight fit when I tried to remove it, I was checking mostly to see if it was likely to fall out of the slot while going down the road. I haven't looked on the website yet but there may be a tutorial for it. The web interface for the device is great! There are a lot of options available on the web interface that I don't see on the Mobile app, but they may be available in future updates. The web interface allows you to setup OBD alerts for various conditions that may be detected by the vehicle, these features may not work if your vehicle doesn't support them. You can set up alerts for moderate, excessive, and severe speeding, braking, turning, impact detection, fuel levels, device unplug, and power on and battery power level. You can have these alerts set to be emailed to you or sent to your mobile via text or using the mobile app. There are several other features like travel playback, and reports that can be exported in several different document formats. I wasn't able to get the alerts to work, but I'm not sure if I totally understand their purpose and process. Still I like that these options are available because it will provide more info than just tracking, You can quickly find out if the vehicle may have been in a accident (Impact detection), or getting low on fuel. I am pleased with this product. It offers a lot of options and seems to be a very well made product. So easy to setup and use anyone can do it. I do hope the company offers more plan options in the future.

We recently purchased the LandAirSea real time SYNC GPS tracking device via Amazon. The device easily plugs into the OBDII port on our vehicle, and therefore does not need batteries. The GPS is small, it’s inside location is out of the way and not noticeable. We have only had it a short time but our experience is completely positive. The product works as advertised and we can monitor our vehicle travel both online over the internet and with the mobile smart phone app. We were able to install and configure the GPS device and begin using it as soon as it arrived. No tools are needed to install, just snap it into place in the OBDII port under the steering wheel. Please note the tracker needs to be activated for a fee (after purchase), this is a credit card transaction done online and only takes a couple minutes. Without activation the product cannot be used. The Serial Number on the back of the tracker is needed for activation. Several activation plans are available, we started with the base plan but may upgrade to a plan with a higher refresh rate later. We felt the device and activation cost was very reasonable for the vehicle tracking information it provides us. One, especially helpful aspect of the SYNC product is the ability to fence locations and notify us, 24/7, with text and emails (with date/time stamps) when our vehicle enters or departs the fenced areas. Tracking is performed in what looks like Google Maps, which is an awesome visual for following our vehicle. For our purpose, we defined two fences, with different names, around each location; one to track arrivals and one for departures. NOTE to LAS – a possible software upgrade could be a single fence with multiple tracking/notification definitions. However, there are other tracking and notification capabilities or methods in the interface with which I'm not familiar. Configuration is primarily performed online in your web browser (same for activation), then available to others who may perform monitoring. We will explore additional tracking configurations as we become more familiar with the tracker interface. Thank you LandAirSea, …great product.

I own an overland vehicle rental business in Alaska and bought these for asset management of my vehicles. I originally purchased 2 of the magnetic puck style back in 2020. One of the pucks fell off the vehicle and the charging port on the other wore out. Then they came out with the OBD plug in type which I was excited for. No need to charge them and no chance of them falling off. I have since bought three of these units. Each one I have scanned the QR code on the back of the device and entered my preferred subscription. I can see the subscriptions have been charged to my account but the units do not show in the mobile app or the desktop when I log in. Customer service is only open M-F 7am-4pm central time which makes it difficult for me here in Alaska. After finally contacting a person at their office, they were able to “activate” one of the 3 units. That unit now shows on my account but will not recognize that it is plugged in to the OBD of my vehicle hence no tracking data. It shows my vehicle in IL where their headquarters are. I’ve been dealing with the issues on the new units for about a week now and still, not one of them work. If you are wanting a reliable asset management system for your vehiclesI suggest you avoid this one.

Recently bought a jeep and purchased this gps tracker for peace of mind. Long story short my jeep was stolen and I was able to recover it using this tracker. Well worth the money however, the alert system needs to make noise. A simple pop up on my phone screen does no good when you are asleep. You update the app to provide sound notifications and this thing would be perfect.

I am purchasing the LAS SYNC device (OBD plugin) to track the movements of a personal vehicle. I also have the Momentum GPS tracker. I wanted to purchase from LandAirSea as they are a domestic family owed company and the real time tracking of the Momentum GPS tracker stinks. The installation and the app setup are easy as pie. For the most part, the tracking is very good and in real-time (an huge advantage over the Momentum GPS tracker). However, there are a few suggestions for improving the software: 1) the ability to track each trip seperate (currently, the software aggregates all trips each day together - which makes it VERY difficult to understand the movements of the asset). 2) the history does not show any times (no beginning, no ending, no duration) relating to the assets. This is a must for my needs. 3) the history playback can only be seen in green - and the map is in brown and green, which makes it difficult to see. 4) the device does not show any diagnostic information (distance, duration of trip, speed, battery, unplugged) - which is very disappointing. On the plus side - the software has the ability to share your route and setting up a fence is SOOOO simple to do. GREAT for knowing if your asset has moved. Compared to the Momentum GPS tracker, the LAS is MUCH better for simplicity and tracking the asset. However, the software does not provide the information I need - which is a deal killer. And I will return the item.

I purchased this device for the purpose of location tracking in the event of a theft. After playing around with it for a few days I am very satisfied with how accurate it is and how flawlessly it updates on the devices/vehicles location. I haven’t had a single issue with it yet! Also, dealing with their customer support line was a breeze when I had an issue setting it up. Would definitely recommend and purchase again!

It wouldn't connect and track at first. I sent one email to tech support and they immediately got it up and running for me.

Excellent and easy to use device for fleet tracking !

Been using this since Nov 2021. At first, it had issues connecting, but tech support was great. Got it up and running in no time. It was very accurate. Loved the 3 second updates. You could see the exact route. Decided to buy a second one for our other vehicle. Same thing, wouldn't connect at first, but support was good and got it working. Now about 6 months later, one of my trackers isn't working properly. Emails to support go unanswered. Calling them (long distance to USA for me) appears to be the only way to reach them. I'm getting a replacement tracker sent to me by UPS. Hopefully the new one will work. The first tracker I bought is still working well, although it too does occasionally lose the signal. Will monitor to ensure it functions as it should.

Spoke with customer service today. Specifically Claudia with land air and sea. She went out of her way with the customer service aspect. Very professional and respectful. What a great company and a great employee! Very excited for this product!
