These pads are attached with a front buckle and buckles around legs to keep pads properly positioned. The leg buckles are uncomfortable, take too long to attach and detach, and interfere with bathroom functions. I haven't experimented on my precious body, but I'd guess that they do a nice job of reducing risk of hip fractures. In fact, research says that risk is reduced about 30%, and that is invaluable. My advice is to try the leg buckles, and if you don't like them, just cut them off. This arrangement is convenient and serves the pad's purpose well.

These run small. I have very few residents that will be able to wear them. They are adjustable in the waist and legs, but still not sure they will be large enough. I do like how you take them on & off as they are not bulky and because they're not worn like underwear, they will not need to be laundered every day.

I dance, and was in a number that required me to fall to the side several times- from standing… I bruised my hip the first time, and was worried about what I would do, so I searched for hip pads, and found these! I used them with the straps that they came with, but also taped them on with KT tape, and ultimately just put them in my leggings and they've stayed put. Not only did they work to prevent further pain and bruising, the current bruise I had actually healed, while still practicing with these. Very happy and very worth the price, depending on what they will be used for.

It is what it is. This product made for protection if seniors fall down. Not really suitable for activities or sports use. I've returned it.
